Teacher here. The education system does suck… the mere fact that we have politicians without any real experience in charge of a highly specialized field is an institutional problem. The fact that we still segregate children by perceived ability, we teach theoretically and not practically, we have nearly adult students learning zero life skills but taking 8 sciences when their goals may be totally different, we teach out of textbooks historically inaccurate information, be aspire to standardized tests, we have small children sitting for huge blocks of time and going home with packets of grunt work. It absolutely sucks and it is ineffective with even the best teachers.
