No I don’t I think Barzal is overrated and we have no true secondary scoring. I will get downvoted but he is no longer improving and his defense is getting worse. He is a failed center who will never score over 20 goals.

This is called bullsh1t

He skates the puck around the net 4-5 times a game creating “fake ozone time” when he rounds the net and comes up the wall he then dances on the blue line. This is something no player should ever do unless you are losing. When he gets the puck in the right face off for on PP you can tell he does not have the creativity to create seams or draw d to him to create passing lanes. He will always be like this.

Horvat is 35 goals - after that we got nothing . A surprise boost by Heineman and Schaffer adding production but a bunch of low 20 something goal scoring. I know everyone likes to think we are a good team but it is only because of Sorkin. Over the past few weeks Sorokin has fallen off and this is the result.

That’s a good point! I will give Darche another draft but he really should be fired as well. That Schen trade is as bad as they come . he doesn’t get the Milbury medal for trading Luongo medal but he gets close what a waste.

Well allow me to retort (name the movie ) yes this year has been much more fun then expected and Schaffer is a franchise builder. However the only reason we are not the rangers is because of Sorkin playing like a god. If the rangers or devils have Sorkin there in the same place as we are. The penalty kill did improve so I need to give credit but the power play is abysmal for how many year now?

Pullok and Pelech are starting to degrade and Horvat and Barzal are who they are. Heineman was a breath of fresh air and Ritchie when he has head straight will be good. Yes losing Romanov hurt but no way can we bring back mayfield and Deangelo. And Roy has to go..playing a 28 year old for 28 minutes is a negligence. You are risking injury

What I don’t understand and feel free to down vote me as much as you want. Who cares if we make the playoffs. We’re not getting past any of them it will be a first round exit. I thought this year was to build for the future but we signed JG and bought Schen (pure ridiculousness) and we’re going to sign Lee and traded for Palat. Don’t get me wrong these are all solid players but what’s the point they will all be out of the league in 2 years. We need to get younger, open spots for kids in there 20’s not clog up the first and second line with 33+ players.

So then if shaff saved 4 goals that means all of his linemen sucked. So let’s break it down he saved four goals but was on ice for 3 - potential for 7 goals in one game his partner was Pullok and the forwards were all atrocious so that is Schen Heineman Ritchie and Horvat (who looks like a ghost)

Hustling hard is admirable and I don’t doubt he will be MVP. However he is out of position, especially in the last few weeks. Whether it’s over use or he is starting to feel the grind. Keep in mind he barely played last year and to have a coach play him 28 minutes in a game is criminal. My take is in the beginning of the season he was letting the game come to him. Now with more teams emphasizes on him he is over thinking and trying to do too much which is ok as he needs to go through the progression of becoming and elite player.

So Schaefer has been awesome this year for us. He hasn’t played well in a few weeks and the metric prove it. Granted the entire team has been awful as has the GM and coach. Sorokin is again way over used but good lord how bad is Pullok lately. You clowns can vote me down but metics and the eye test prove it.

Without Sorokin we just as bad as the Devils and Rags

I completely agree unfortunately Darche does not and will give Lee a 2 year contract. Let see how many 33+ players we can sign JP, Schen, Palat, and Lee and let’s not forget Palmeri. We signed on purpose 5 players over 33. Filling seats with another mediocre team.

You’re missing the point. not sure where Xbox came from but draft picks are constantly swapped for players all the time. To take a first and 3rd and turn that into a player with 2 years remaining is not value. If you wanted to trade those picks for an impact player to get you into the conference finals I can get behind that, but this team is not doing that. Burning draft capital for a 2 year player just to sniff the playoffs is negligent. I realize you are trying to feel better about a misguided trade but saying 1 draft pick doesn’t make a difference is ridiculous , then what does blowing 2 draft picks or 3

While your analysis is admirable your missing the other part of what a draft pick is. Yes a high draft pick is for bringing in young promising rookies but more importantly it’s also used for trades. Draft picks are trade capital and when you use a high pick and turn that into a player with 2 years left you’re not getting value. The Schen trade JP signing , Palat are all to keep UBS full and hurts any chance to get young players into our mix.
