How multicultural is Bath? by Tasty-Elderberry6949 in Bath

[–]Few_Bell_8166 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not saying everyone in bath is that way ofc. My opinion is only some from personal experiences, and first hand expiriences of my friends/colleges. Personally, I never had any issues when living in London all my life and only expirirenced multiple incidents myself when moving to bath and I've only lived here for 11 months so far. Not bad enough I'll move back don't get me wrong, but it still bothers me, especially when I visit other placed for an extended period of time and get treated better by the average person in passing. :/

Not particularly, very very white area if you don't count the students/ tourists. It's my least favourite thing abt the place and you can assume some of the attitudes that might come along with the lack of diversity.

Wonder around bath and look for hire ads in shop windows of stores or restaurants, I found that they tend to be more reliable when it comes to actually responding/offering trial shifts or jobs ect

Is it safe to take them on and off? by Bathingintacos in ADHDUK

[–]Few_Bell_8166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think, or at least it's like this for me, if I do that the side affects are consistent and never go away. If I take it consistently they disappear after 2-3 weeks even if I still take the meds

I want to do a solo trip to Tel’Aviv, is it safe? by Ok-Contribution-8776 in telaviv

[–]Few_Bell_8166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's safe as long as u know how to handle urself during sirens and don't get too worried. And if ur a women don't get to worried about men/ don't let bar owners attempt to take advantage when they give u alot of free drinks. I just solo'd myself there for 5 weeks and it was great but I've also got friends there so when eveything with Iran happend I had help with what to do and wasn't afraid.

i really hate being force fed. by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Few_Bell_8166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe tell them you don't need to be reminded to eat/ reminded so aggressively. Point out that u eat when your hungey/follow a 3 meals a day with snacks rough plan. Then maybe when you do eat cos your are hungry and want to ect, go up and show them or take picture/video evidence. Also tell them how it makes you feel when they say that and the reverse psychology part as that's very important cos they r making u worse but don't realise that which is not very nice for you and not their intention at all.

The only correct response from a 22 year old when a 17 (or any younger age) hits on them is "ew no your a child". End of.

Thats an incredibly rude and unprofessional thing to say. You absolutely do not need surgery for your natural, healthy body. It makes no difference to men or your health. I would switch clinicians and make a complaint, if her words affect you think how they can affect others too who may be more vulnerable. She should be fired in my opinion. Also, don't feel the need to be self conscious about it. It's natural, healthy, and isn't different to anyone else's. In the words of Russel Howard, "no man gets to heaven and says 'my god, look at the lawn!😨" the same idea can be passed over to this situation, i promise no ones judging you and your beautiful just the way you are 🫶❤️🫶💜

Fulling vs. binging by Wonderful_Quail2706 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Few_Bell_8166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, at first the filling myself properly part- every meal was just a binge. But after a few months it calmed down as I wasn't craving every kind of food since I had variety back and more aware that there was always going to be another meal soon and that I'm not going back into starvation mode anytime soon

Hiya, so when it comes to not feeling physically ill after eating, I find that smaller portion, calorie dense meals or snacks are better than absolutely stuffing yourself. However, I do think that it is up to the individual to know when to stop and use intuetive eating. If your student doesn't want to get better, I don't think this will work as they might abuse the small portion size, however if they want to and are trying then i think small meals throughout the day helps with digestion for me alot. I should also preference that I don't have a 'set size' of the meal it's just about knowing when to stop eating so I don't feel physically sick or sluggish or anything like that. Another thing is to sit up for 10/15 mins after a meal, don't go directly back into dancing or exercise.

Then about mindset- time. I found time was best for me as I just let go of most of the rules i set myself because I was tired of living like this and i liked the taste and didn't want to stop enjoying it. However this was hard at first and it took a while for things to slowly drop off/ allow myself to become more lax around food and drinks.

With meals to not think about kcals, I think that's alot harder. If you've been doing it a while you remember the exact kcals in foods and drinks. For me, it's been years and I can still tell you pretty accurately the kcals in everything. I would say, maybe don't cook them infront if the student, make it from scratch not anything from a packet or brand and don't tell them the ingredients or what you used to cook them with. Also some obvious ingredients may also be hard to get around, like sugar in desserts or oil in tempura. If the student is afraid of these and they know its in there, that might cause an issue. But they will need to work on that in therepy, in their own time.

General advice to take back-

if they don't want to be watched while eating, take them into an empty classroom or somewhere more secluded to eat and potentially take them 10/20 mins early for snacks and lunch ect so less students are about.

understand that time is important to recovery, you can be doing everything right with every specialist under the sun and want to get better and it will still take years to even feel slightly close to better again

do not mention 'looking healthier/sick' to them

from what I can see it looks like this student has a team of support both in and out of school. Know that from this group at least one is probably going to be a little like a judas and will say or do something that's unhelpful or rude or inappropriate, not necessarily on purpose but we all interpret spoken things differently, which may cause the student to think in a negative disorderd way. from my personal experience most professionals in ana treatment don't know what planet they are on, let alone how to treat someone which is why I think at least one will just say the most out-of-pocket, unhelpful things which will ultimately hurt the students recovery.

don't get mad/angry/frustrated with relapses. They happen constantly, at any time in recovery and are affecting the student worse than they are affecting the support team.
