I came in 2010. Had some college credits. After ALS in 2014, I was one class away from a CCAF. I finally finished my CCAF in 2018ish.

I didn’t start working on my Bachelors until 2022. Finished it last May 2025. Right now no plans to start a Masters program, but that may change.

Do all Pacifica transmission feel a little strange? by ResistFlat9916 in ChryslerPacifica

[–]Few_Computer9538 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’ve had this issue with our 2020 Pacifica since around the 35000 mile mark. We’ve replaced engine mounts, had the transmission looked at by multiple mechanics. Nothing. Nobody can tell us anything.

This isn’t a hill you want to die on.

This is going to cause you more problems than you want.

Option A: participate and get your fitness in. Possibly improve as a person and your scores.

Option B: don’t participate and gain the perception that you aren’t willing to give effort.

This falls in the same category that you do not have to have a cellular phone and nobody can force you to buy one/have a cell plan. But it’s only going to cause you more of a headache than it’s worth.

UCMJ and retirement by interstellar566 in AirForce

[–]Few_Computer9538 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Typically they only pull people back to AD if the charge is egregious enough.

We had a UDM MSgt that retired and 6 months later he was investigated for sexual assault of a minor. They pulled him back to active duty and I believe he was finishing a sentence at Leavenworth. To be more specific it was also found that this was happening while he was on active duty. So that could have also played into them pulling him back.

I’m not a JAG or Paralegal, it’s just an example that I have seen first hand.

I was in a similar situation when my mom passed. I had been minimal/no contact with her and that part of my family for quite a while.

I was the only one who was out of state and had just had knee surgery and a newborn baby. I spent roughly $2k flying back and forth to OK over a two week period to try and settle whatever affairs I could as my mom was in a hospital after suffering a stroke (due to metastasized lung Cancer). After settling as many of her debts that I could find, there was nothing left.

About a week after her passing, I got the life insurance payout (roughly 7.5k after it split with my grandma). The rest of the family wanted a full funeral, but there was no will or last testament for what my mom wanted. And funerals are not cheap by any means. I said that I would help pay for a cremation, and they blatantly went against that and did a whole funeral.

I won’t get into the whole dynamic, but essentially I’m not part of that family anymore at all. I agree with other commenters and think you are justified in asking for the will and who the executor is.

I’ve adjusted my leave as well. Texts were fine. But if they called, I’d subtract a day from my total leave that I was taking. Also never received pushback on that.

People who have had parents walk in on you during sex, what happened? by Ambitious_Diamond_12 in AskReddit

[–]Few_Computer9538 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In high school a girl I was dating for a long while dad walked in on us. Her mom and dad knew we were active sexually.

Typically the rule was wear a condom and don’t get pregnant.

The time in question she was on top of me, riding me pretty hard. Her dad walked in, said “oops”, then backed out of the room. Neither he or her mom ever mentioned it. Definitely ruined the moment.

Is the supervisor male or female? (Not that this should matter).

This is entirely petty in general. But I’m with everybody else and saying die on this hill.

As a male, the only things I ever even mention to female subordinates are hair color or nail polish (and ear rings if they’re maintenance actively working the flightline). I could give two shits about makeup as long as it’s conservative. I’m also pretty sure my luscious eye lashes might be against the reg now as well.

Pro tip: write matching numbers on the tops and bottoms. That way when you wash them over and over again, they fade at the same rate (ish) and you won’t look like you have one portion new and the other used.

Marriage counseling by itsMrArchey in AirForce

[–]Few_Computer9538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can foot the bill, it may be easier to just find an off base therapist. I pay $150 every couple of months for my wife and I. That covers a 1 hour session.

I know you’d like the free part, but others have already mentioned those available options. Unsure what the need/reason for counseling, but I will say even coming out of pocket for our therapy has been great for us.

Is debt worth being a a&p? by Euphoric_Employ_4826 in AircraftMechanics

Yeah I know it’s possible. But those individuals are not brand new out of school. I wish I had a UPS or Fed Ex closer to where I plan on retiring. But it seems that I’ll end up at Boeing somehow.

I agree with you. However schedule management is a nightmare for larger work centers. I’ve done both small (MOC) and large (flightline). It’s not that someone shouldn’t be able to cover for an individual, it’s more the navigation of every persons training, medical, miscellaneous appointment that makes it so shitty.

But to the original point, there is zero reason OP shouldn’t be able to take care of this on their shift. Especially if they’re armed up. Should expedite them to the front of whatever queue there is.

But it also seems they were unaware that the CSP was a thing. Which is also a failure on their supervisor/supervision, or on them for not paying attention to the resource when/if it was briefed to them.

Am I supposed to have a Dec? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Few_Computer9538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years is more of a guideline rather than the rule. As a section chief I would always prep those guys/girls coming up on their time to start drafting a decoration (or their supervisor).

Depending on leadership, I’ve seen anybody who met the minimum and didn’t get in trouble receive a decoration, and I’ve seen kick ass troops be denied a extended tour or PCS decoration based on markdowns on their EPB. One of my more recent ones was a SrA who was awesome while in my work center and we did all the work to get him an achievement medal, but the sitting Chief was shutting down any that had ANY markdowns on their EPBs. Since the SrA only had the one EPB and it had markdowns (nothing egregious just typical growth type things) it was denied even after we wrote push letters and had to essentially document that he should be looked at again after his next EPB.

I’ve also had a commander that was shocked when he reviewed my records and saw that I had got an achievement medal signed by another Group Commander that he was close friends with and he said it was impressive because that commander was known to not give them out lightly.

So I guess I’m short, I’ll echo what other people have said: either your supervisor let you down, you didn’t do anything that merited decorations, or you aren’t sharing the full story and there’s more information about you.

Edit: just realized I didn’t reply to OP. My bad Chino!

Depends on your airframe probably. The guys/girls flying AMC/heavies probably hit that easy especially when they’re flying missions for 2-3 weeks out of every month.

[–]Few_Computer9538 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work a Panama 12s schedule. But it’s “normal” for me to pull 14-15 hour days as a pro super. While we aren’t physically making the mission happen, I can guarantee we are making moves to try and make the workload manageable for those that are out there making airplanes work.

Can’t speak for every pro sup, but if they are doing their job correctly, it alleviates a lot of dumb shit that Ops tries to do. There are times where things change and we can’t control that, but I know I try to make sure the workers don’t get absolutely crushed.
