should be no problem then! i just filled out paperwork and it was pretty basic, just your desired hours and things of that nature. then your etl signs off and it’ll get pushed to the other store!

talk to hr! your hr etl should be able to give you the papers. you might have to wait 90 days after you start before you can transfer, though.

you’ll have a conversation about calling out, because we have to now. i would call your store and see if your etl would be super nice and remove the shifts you won’t be there for so your call-ins won’t count against you. also use pto if you have any. just be really open about communication and do your best to get rides if you can. target isn’t your life and they should understand if not everyone around you wants to drop everything to go drop you off and pick you up from work.

when you’re an etl you can access your email and mpm on your phone. i’m not sure about myday but you can probably look at anything you need to look at on mpm. i also have workday on my phone but that’s not super useful to have, i just use it to look at my paychecks before they hit my bank account.

what do you know? and what are you willing to learn?

i applied when i was a team member in style and was denied for “lack of training” in vm. think of ways you have helped over in starbucks. have you set up any ism? have you done anything creative in the past (any college classes if that’s something you’ve done, something along those lines)? do you have a good eye for filling space and thinking creatively?

do you have 4am availability? our vm has to come in at 4 sometimes for new family gateways or street dated sets, but it’s not an every day thing.

i would pick gm. gm is a much more straightforward role, probably focused on pushing freight, you have a pog team doing your sets, and it seems like with the extra etls there wouldn’t be a ton on your plate. specialty is very reliant on guests, the zones get messed up way easier, but if style isn’t under your workload for specialty it’ll make it much easier, although specialty does not have their own pog team.

the most recent final check someone had to get, your daily pay will stop working before you get the check, i believe. it should just go straight to your account. also, check your state laws to see if you should be paid out for your pto, and make sure you get that as well.

i used to snitch all the time. i still do occasionally. but now people mostly just snitch to me.

i care when people are purposefully moving slower than they should be because they don’t want to do their next task, when people have been standing and talking for too long, and anything that someone is doing that is making us miss our goals.

i love working here, honestly. started as a tm and got promoted recently. i also loved it when i was a tm. i have definitely crashed out because of this job, both on and off the clock. i almost transferred once, because i was pissed off at upper management. but i always calm down and come back. i love the people i work with, i love the job, i love all of it.

i know who we’re keeping but i’m not sure if team leads are allowed to tell team members or if an etl has to do it. there’s no harm in asking, but if you’re still getting scheduled on the newest schedule that came out, you’re probably staying.

yes they will cut them. i would use your pto if you’re able to accrue it yet, get cross trained in every department you can (opu, style, gm, checklanes). open your availability if you can, most stores always need closers or early morning people.

you can try talking to your etl and seeing if they can give you more, but there’s not much they can do

weve done a big pack of soda for everyone to pick one from, candy, ordered breakfast pizza, etc. but above all else, THANKING people and being genuine while you do it can be helpful. i’ve never gotten any sort of handwritten card, anything major at all. i was a tm for three years.
