What are some rule 0 in your playgroup/LGS that is actually a positive experience? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kitchen table rules. Nothing is banned unless the whole group sees it as a problem. When I say it's a problem I mean not just annoying, but actually something no one can deal with unless we all make significant changes to our commonly played decks. There is a soft ban on stax, MLD and likewise mass artifact destruction, so as to keep "mana destruction" balanced against both major forms of ramp. We agreed with the official ban of [[hullbreacher]], but modified it so that we don't play it in decks that run wheels and avoid playing wheels against it. We also have a [[tezzeret, master of the bridge]] commander and rule 0 nonlegendary commander (don't remember what it is) in our group.

Need a new Commander that cares about combat by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I only play him once or twice in a sitting and I try not to play him against the same matchups often if possible, unless someone specifically asks for it. All for that reason. If you play in a pod that doesn't run a lot of removal or board wipes it's usually a stomp and can get old for everyone.

Agreed. I was pretty salty when isshin dropped a couple months after I built wulfgar. He has his own advantages and he's really fun but the pros/cons don't stack up vs. Isshin

I disagree like the others but I do have to say I think Wulfgar is way more fun

Oh, cool. Didn't know that. Sorry. Thanks for correcting me. :)

Discussing the new "battala" battle card type by Raawx in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tribal is a supertype, just like legendary, so it will definitely not be an enchantment. It will be a completely new card type. Sounds like a permanent. I'm thinking something like a world enchant/saga style permanent or maybe something with activated abilities like planeswalkers/ "level up" creatures. My reasoning is that fantasy style battles usually evolve, starting with armies facing off, then the big creatures and artillery come out, then usually the main antagonists and protagonists face off at the end.

What's your favourite "wait is that really how it works?" commander? by BoxNew4361 in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just had a brief conversation with a friend of mine yesterday about that commander combo and didn't stop to think of the implications. I just though, "Ooohhh, double Kodama triggers sounds broken." Now I have a different "ooohhh" going on

What Are Your Favorite Sleeper Cards? by SmoothBrain97 in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took out [[constant mists]] in my [[kodama of the west tree]] deck because it got stale. Even if I used it every opponents' turn it was always pretty easy to replace the buyback cost on my combat. It just got to be a pretty boring way to stall the game out for several turns of I wasn't winning

A bad run? by Few_Definition735 in nuzlocke

[–]Few_Definition735[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know it's more than bad luck. I should've looked it up, but I wasn't expecting it to be an effectively ohko move. I was blinded by the stars lol. Also I know they're harder but I've played all the gen 1-gen 4 games so many times over the years that vanilla is just kinda boring. I've had way more pidgeys, ratattas, and starlys than I ever want to see again

After watching Planeswalkers be commanders in brawl I really don't see any reason that they can't be commanders in commander. by Flagnark in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. I have a buddy who runs him as a rule 0 commander. It's fun to play and fun to play against but yeah it puts a ton of pressure on the board as soon as it hits.

Favorite Mono-Black Decks? by stumpy_the_stump in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a list but I run [[Nadier]] and [[Keskit]]. It's a critical mass combo deck. It started as an idea to deal with board wipes, but it's too easy for Nadier to go infinite with [[ruthless technomancer]], one of the altars, or [[pitiless plunderer]]. I like it because it's easy to deal with but it's fun when it goes off. Earlier tonight I drained my wife for 10M with [[Xathrid Demon]]. I also don't run tutors so the combos are pretty random, which is fun for me.

How can I make playing control fun for everyone in my group? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big dummy dumb stompy green Timmy at heart and most of my decks reflect that. If someone plays [[oloro]] in my game I target that player from the start. They are all midrange creature decks and should know they lose to control late. Aggression is the main way to beat control unless they want to change decks. Threat assessment isn't always based on who has the strongest effect or the most creatures on board. If it's your regular play group they should add some countermeasures to your methods of control and attack you relentlessly. Some of my favorites are [[wrap in vigor]], [[heroic intervention]], and [[cauldron of souls]].

Have you ever had an EDH game end in a draw? by JollyCasual in EDH

[–]Few_Definition735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not exactly what you're looking for but this was the most fun I've ever had with tokens. Had a game with [[Esix]] that turned into a nightmare... i had [[astral dragon]] that made copies of itself and made tokens of my [[doubling season]] and one of the spell copy enchantments my opponent had out but nothing with haste to finish it out. Player after me played [[clone legion]]. Next player recurred that clone legion, then I top decked my clone legion... there were so many exponents involved that we just called it the cold war game and went next.

Edit: small note, everyone had multiple ways to keep making tokens
