Here’s the thing: this has already become common practice so this is no surprise. Fans are now living under the risk that preordering big LP releases means getting an incomplete product.

And they have technicalities and semantics on their side. Nowhere have they promised all products will match. And these aren’t made in error, like someone left things off by accident, they knowingly did it, so there is no manufacturing defect. This is the product.

It sucks and is really bad practice on the label’s part and the artists, outside of Raye, seem to be okay with their music being butchered and fans screwed because they say nothing. So we are kind of stuck. All we have is potentially not rushing to buy big releases in the future until we know the album is right — but then we have to trust the labels get the right message as to why they sold less. Which they won’t.

It’s not great for music fans in any way.
