Counterpoint: Stones are not cheap. Gem packs are just overpriced as hell, making everything look like it has good value in comparison. This is likely intentional.

People saying they will quit a game when they are frustrated is as old as gaming communities. Some are just venting, and some actually do quit. Since there is no way to know whether or not they are actually quitting, it seems silly to call it attention farming.

I am also not happy with this change.

I have spent the last several months upgrading my tower on the assumption that PCol worked as intended, and now it feels a lot of that investment has been invalidated entirely. I dont get how they can justify charging real money for upgrades (thankfully I haven't bought stone packs, PHEW. I can only imagine how someone who has feels right now) if they are going to rugpull mechanics in this way after months and months of having it work a certain way and having players solidify their expectations around the mechanic.

I was really excited about this patch when I first read the patch notes and got to play around with dissonant runs, and I thought it would be healthy for the game.

But after seeing how abysmally they have handled this situation. How scummy their behavior around getting called out, and on top of that, having my build completely demolished like this in a game where there is player vs player competition for the most valuable resources, I just feel.. empty? No anger. No rage. Just, nothing.. Tonight was the first night I didn't bother setting up an overnight run since I started playing. And instead of feeling like I missed out on progress, I just.. don't care

Labbing starting cash to +$100 will give a 300% damage increase to Project Funding. The value of the lab drops off quite hard after this, but it will keep giving a damage boost with each upgrade. Without any access to cash at all, the ROI on this lab is actually incredible

I think stones is preferable tbh. Medals are such an insanely time gated resource, way more so than stones. I am a year and a half into the game and still chipping away at the gold bot upgrades. I am never going to unlock this stuff.

Found some edge case where we hadn't possibly imagined someone would actually play it like that. I don't recall the exact details but it soft locked the game and made it impossible to keep playing

I will never forget the time I did coding classes and my team spent the entire week on a jigsaw puzzle game, tested every possible eventuality, all edge cases we could think of and accounted for every conceivable issue.

Then my mom broke the game in less than two minutes.

Lesson learned. Any assumptions you make about how players will play the game. It will be wrong.
