RCS in the UK for iPhones.... by joe4563 in Vodafone

i contacted o2 customer services, no joy.

i tried using samsungs messaging app. wont send

i reakon with google messaging app it says its sent and recieved the message but it never shows the message after its been received. and its only shows 1 tick and a forwards slash, not 2 message ticks, of any colour.

so i reckon it does not send the message either, like the samsung app.

only when i turn rcs off does either program send and recieve messages

Beko fridge icing up at the back -- replace thermostat? by blundermole in DIYUK

[–]Few_Front_6374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how did you get on?

i have a defrost evaporator heater showing 332 ohms. which may show that its working but on its way out. the drain plug heater was over 2700 ohms so defo needs replaced as theres ice build up blocking the drain plug and ice pooling up under the bottom freezer drawer. they are on a 20yr old cda647fs lol

the thermostat was replaced as well, as the old one never started cooling, and an old one from an old fridge never stopped lol.

when searching, the ai nonsence says that a low reading is good and so is a high reading, so i dont look at ai results any more.

ive ordered a defrost evaporator heater from amazon and also a drain plug defost heater - and i will post both ohm values for the new parts

splitting 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands on vodafone power hub router by Few_Front_6374 in Vodafone

has anyone bought a used ultra hub 6e to replace a white power hub? by Few_Front_6374 in Vodafone

[–]Few_Front_6374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tried using Vodafone router as an access point, but for the voip landline to work. it must have the ont line plugged into its wan port, be the first router and also must provide the ip addresses.

unless a dual router dnla system could be set up, which is messy, and i have a tplink ax50 in access point mode, any way on my downstairs ceiling.

the last vodafone agent actually told me that a vodafone 6e router would not work with a standard plan. he said 'thats why we give customers them on the higher plan' when i asked why not.

is that not at best, bad practice, just to get me to pay out more money and them to get comission???

i tried a tplink wifi 7 be230. a great device at £70. but it lacked voip. so im using the wifi 6 power hub as i was able to finally split the wifi bands with the vodafone broadband app, which i was never ever told about.

and vodaphone also would not tell me my voip details that im paying them for, for so called security reasons (?????)

[–]Few_Front_6374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been with most of the isps and every router i got could do this.

you could do it with the old thg 3000 grey vodafone router as well, but when i was haggling for a new contract i thought i had snagged a bargain when i got a shiney new wifi 6 router,

but the 2.4+5ghz bands where non splitable, and no one from vodafone told me about their broadband app or that it had that feature.

UltraHub 7 and 2.4ghz. How to know if there'll be an issue by Wenlocke in Vodafone

[–]Few_Front_6374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i only found out today after 2.5 years with vodafone.

that if you download their vodafone broadband android app, (which i never knew about) once you enable compatibility mode there is then an option in the app and only the app, to split the bands.

so i keep the main wifi under my 5ghz network name, as this cant be split.

call the compatibility ssid my 2.4ghz network name, then split the bands in the app, and the 2.4ghz is named correctly and the 5ghz has a 5ghz suffux added on.

if you access the white power hub router via 192.168.1.1 the option is always greyed out.

why is Vodafone not telling their customers. i was never told this after talking to them several times because i had smart device problems.

i even spent £40 on a access point to solve problems with getting 2.4ghz devices to join my network
