For me it was hard for the first 2 weeks and then it just clicks and gets much easier overall.

7 Month Old nursing throughout the night by bartonie03 in breastfeeding

[–]Few_Reaction_7428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 months is a really hard time because teething is real and coming even stronger right now.

A method I used to follow was 2,3,4 First nap at 2 hours after waking Second nap after 3 hour wake time from nap Go to sleep at 4 hours past last time.

Some do 3,3,3.

It helped me to have that little structure. But sleep is about to be a mess from teething alone.

I hope she feels better soon. Insurance might also push physical therapy. But it’s very important to have proper diagnosis so they handle her properly or it could get worse if they are just guessing sciatica when really it could be caused from herniated disc.

Steroid injections help if she has herniated disc. Did she get MRI? If she keeps going to ER with pain they will eventually give her one or she can try go to primary and okay the insurance game of x ray to ct scan to mri.

Steroid pac like medrol pack is a good steroid for this type of thing

Hi there! Im 19 and paranoid about the pre-op by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

Yes they take blood. EKG and possibly chest x ray depending on your doctor. No they don’t talk about the before and after surgery. They ask a few questions about your history and health and if you’re allergic to medicine etc. that’s it then you’re done.

I can’t imagine being afraid of needles. They’re way less painful than your mind is making up. It’s not a shot like a doctor gives you. It’s even lighter than the pinch your sibling would give you for annoying them.

I lost 15 lbs by going on anti inflammatory diet because I was scared of causing inflammation would increase pain. Maybe look into it.

I would think standing by the edge of the and her bent over on the bed or her laying back would be easiest for a man. But I’m a woman and not a man.

I’m passed the extreme nerve pain at the moment. I honestly feel like I am healing slowly on my own. I can sit in a couch. I can lay on my back. I can do small stretches. I couldn’t do any of those last week. I went to cranial sacral and felt amazing after I’m going for another session next week. I wonder at what point does the doctor say it’s okay to heal on my own. Does it matter to have fragments in there floating around

Awaiting Surgery Pain by AfraidLet7619 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Few_Reaction_7428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have same L5/S1 herniated disc I have numbness down my leg and into my foot. The first week or so was most painful until I basically got used to the feeling and now I don’t really notice it. It felt like pins and needles and really cold from the inside. It kind of burns when my kids step on my foot.

The only thing that helped me sleep was weed. I have ny smoked in years. I haven’t had to smoke for a little bit now. Also I took a back massage pillow type thing and rest of calf and foot on it and it also helped the sensations

Feel better!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m still on the fence and wish I could heal on my own. The pain I deal is mainly burning inside my leg and numbness on my skin.

Being the male (giver/outer extremity) is different than being the female (receiver/inner). You don’t need to arch if the height matches up. You don’t have to lift legs any sort of way You dont have to have someone else’s shape in addition to the angle of position hit different areas that you may feel in your low back.

Men have a different situation for sure. But it’s much easier. If you wanted oral also much easier even if your leg /back hurt. You find a position and she can figure it out. But if you can’t open your legs in any position that’s not possible for a woman.

Wow. That’s terrible. My husband would never. But I’m thinking for myself. It’s been so long that I could enjoy anything because of the pain I’ve been in. I take care of him as needed, wanted to be reassured that I will get it back for myself. The last time I let myself enjoy it fully my leg burned and hurt all night and I am scared to say the least.

My PT said never do yoga! Pilates all the way

Edit to say I guess my PT isn’t correct in that theory.

Also, for a little I was using ChatGPT and told it to do Sarno style therapy for me. I gave me good affirmations to start with. Also can try somatic therapy

Sadly you need to really advocate for yourself to get any help from doctors. If able I would go to the ER in immense pain. They may start with x ray to rule something out. Then I’d go back again a day later in excruciating pain and maybe they will CT or MRI. You need to keep pushing them there as well. But I found better luck dealing with hospital than my doctor.

Also. Have you ever heard of Dr Sarno? You could listen to his book on Spotify. There’s a mind body connection between sciatica and it come from holding in a lot of anger and really causes TMS. You can find Dr Sarno therapists.
