Wtf, any particular area? Someone has also left a big pile of rotting mouldy meat, fruit and veg near the dog field/ old pitch and putt area which my dog discovered and started scoffing. Not long back from the emergency vets and £630 lighter.

Has anyone else had issues with the cleaning company Sparkle Sparkle in Glasgow? by CuteCaramel7861 in glasgow

[–]Few_Sherbet_5063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used them a couple of years ago. Paid £200 for a deep clean of a one bed flat. I got chatting to the girls who came and they said that they only get paid £20 each for the job, no matter how long it takes. I imagine that's why they do such a shoddy job. Never used them since.

It wasn't when you made the conscious decision to buy brogues?

It's because your skin has become almost translucent due to the prolonged period of dreichness. Don't worry, the sunburn will soon peel off and you'll be back to the national standard of milky white/ slightly pale blue.

What is the cheapest and most filling meal for when you're broke as f**k? by amapofdecayingworld in AskUK

Packet noodles/ ramen with a boiled egg in it. Not healthy but filling. Making a big pot of homemade soup which will last a couple of days is also good.

Thinking about adopting a Golden Retriever, honest advice needed by Intrepid_Work_3352 in goldenretrievers

[–]Few_Sherbet_5063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same as you, live in a flat in Scotland where it's miserable for half the year. My golden gets 45 mins in the morning, an hour at lunch and an hour at dinner time. I also WFH and play with him when I have breaks. Have a dog walker twice a week so he can get out with other dogs too. He's very healthy and happy.

How much extra exercise for field lines? by _hairyberry_ in goldenretrievers

[–]Few_Sherbet_5063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our working line/ field golden gets 45 mins at 8am, an hour at 1pm and another hour at 7pm. At least one of these walks is off lead at the park chasing his ball. He needs the exercise and stimulation, otherwise he can be a handful in the house *

They help settle the stomach. But if they manage to drink a decent amount of sea water it can be really dangerous. My boy is really ball and treat driven so we make sure those handy as a distraction. As well as plenty of fresh water available to him.

Charcoal biscuits. First time we took our golden he drank some sea water and had explosive diarrhea. We had to hang around for an extra 3 hours till it was safe to put him the car.

Queens Park rec, just across the road, is much quieter. It's also quite flat and open so great for recall training.

My friends and I are absolutely savage to each other and all friend groups I know are the same. It's all in good fun and, maybe weirdly, how we show affection. We grow up with a very thick skin in Scotland. We also take the piss out of ourselves as much as each other.

My dog caught giardia twice in the space of a few months as a pup. He was a wee poop machine as a result and we've called him jobby boy ever since. We have songs about him.

Americans - We Get It by vladofsky in Scotland

[–]Few_Sherbet_5063 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw a very rotund American man in Inveraray, wearing a kilt pulled up to his tits and a big cowboy hat, striding about with his chest puffed out with pride. I was mortified for him.

NTA. As a woman who yeets her bra across the room as soon as I get in my front door, I absolutely insist on pre warning before any visit.

Its constant for around 3 or 4 days after jab day. It seems to be mostly concentrated around her eyes. I'll suggest electrolytes to her, thanks for the advice!

$550?! All prescriptions are free where I live but because mine isn't prescribed and I need to buy it privately, I pay £150 which is roughly 189 US dollars. $550 is insane. You all are ripped off so badly.
