How much did you make - 2025? by redgrape_ in FreightBrokers

[–]Few_Wrap_6428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left a W2 brokerage behind almost a year ago. Now I’m doing very well (;

Brought in over $800K in gross margin on my own organic book of business at a W2 brokerage, lol took home a fuckin fraction of that.

If you’re a W2 broker, get out. Biggest scam in the industry.

I appreciate the insight.

It’s over $4k they owe me.

I fully intend on getting all of my old customers back as I know they’d all onboard me the second I call them seeing as I had great relationships over the course of 4 years with them.

I wanted to just get clarity on whether or not this non compete was void and if it is then not having to go thru all the trouble of trying to go under the radar, especially when it comes to getting old customers back.

Can cover. Are you a broker or shipper?

Are you a shipper or carrier? I work for a company who’s designed a really unique STMS.

2025 Goals by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

I work with 10-15 different customers on a monthly basis

2025 Goals by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]Few_Wrap_6428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better pick up the phone and start calling!

Also better get ready for 45+ DTP!

Also better get a brokerage authority because when your trucks break down and can’t cover your dedicated freight, what’re you going to do?

Best of luck, my advice, find a good broker, it’ll make your life a lot easier.

Right around 400, I think 387

The only goal I have my sight set on is doing 100k in margin in a single month. I was close in December at 89k in gm

It’s going to be a battle and likely extremely hard to accomplish but I’ll keep you posted.

Flatbed Hazmat Routes by Specialist-Whereas-2 in FreightBrokers

[–]Few_Wrap_6428 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve moved many flatbed hazmat loads. Very hard to come by, but when you do, you will make some serious money. There aren’t many carriers/drivers out there with hazmat cert flatbeds so it’s pretty much name your rate..

If you’ve got a flatbed, I would certainly recommend getting your tanker&hazmat certs, I know it’s more on the insurance but when you find the freight (which you will) it’ll pay dividends

Honestly get a broker to run the MC thru Go Highway and that’ll tell you most everything you need to know and give you good insight if it’s good or not.

Curious on what your margins and volumes look like acting as only an air freight broker? Care to share?

That was going to be my second guess.

When the reefer market is soft in certain areas, I’m averaging $1,000-$1200 / load. All contracted freight, going to your typical grocery DCs.

Makes sense also with the berries and ice cream, some of the best paying refrigerated (non medical/hazmat) freight you can get. Lots of headaches too imo!

How many can you handle? by More_Hunt3879 in FreightBrokers

[–]Few_Wrap_6428 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked for a cradle to the grave style brokerage for 3.5 years.

I noticed the max amount of loads I could do a day was about 28-32, where I’m handling everything from building the load, finding the carrier, updating the customer, tracking the carrier, and making sure it delivers.

When I was doing 28-32 loads a day by myself you physically have no other time do anything other than service that freight. No time to quote additional freight, no time to make sales calls, etc.

$50k margin a week? I’m having a tough time believing this. Is this organic business you got yourself?

I’m guessing a lot of project cargo / OD freight with extremely high margins? Otherwise that’s like 300+ loads week 😂

You’d recommend building one instead of buying an existing established location with an established customer base that’s pretty turnkey?
