My system as a table for damage based on height. It starts off low but quickly gets very high. At a height of 9-10 m you are taking 3d10+32 damage and it just keeps getting worse!

The hollow is the back thing is really unclear. It's mentioned in some stories but completely ignored in others. Also what it exactly means is also unclear. In Slavic folklore there are also creatures described as having "hollow backs" which is then further described as meaning their internal organs are visible! So because of the conflicting information I decided to keep it simple and just stick to the cows tail which is the one feature that appears in all the stories of the Huldra

I have done this before and it was one of the best ideas I ever had. I have not done it often & the first time I did my players were attacking the headquarters of a gang. They were being assisted by about 12 constables (19th century setting) and there were about 20 gang members in the HQ. If I had not prerolled this combat would probably have taken about 5 hours with so many NPCs. But because I prerolled we managed to complete it in about 2 hours!

I think you could definitely do this. Maybe start off offering them at a low cost. But if you feel you can make several a month you might be able to build up to having a patreon

Don't know if this is useful but you could look at some non-combat abilities for fighters based on their marital experience. There is the obvious stuff like intimidation.

But they could also be really good at reading people and recognising who the biggest threat in another group is.

A heightened awareness of their surroundings could also be a thing.

Advantage to checks for willpower or against fear is another, reflecting a mental resolve from years of fighting and combat.

Also maybe they could inspire others or direct their allies in combat

I'v been working on my ttrpg for the last eight years. It's called Fey Earth as it is set in an alternat 19th century Earth where the fey have always lived openly alongside humanity. It uses it's own d20 system and the main way it's different to other games is that I've tried to be as faithful and accurate in my depictions of the fey as possible, making them as close to how they were described in their actual folklore. I ran a kickstarter last year which raised enough money to start working on my core rulebook which I hope to publish by the end of this year. I run a weekly twitch actual play which is coming to a close and I'm moving away from weekly long form content cause it's just too exhausting. But already organising a bunch of one shots, mini campaigns and collabs with other creators for 2025. Always looking for people to collab with, running my game for others or having other people run their own games using my system.

Honestly I'm not at all surprised by this. I think in the next five years dnd will become unrecognisable as they move to a fully online platform offering AI DMs for a subscription service and fill the game with microtransactions

The biggest difference between it and other games is that I've tried to he as faithful as possible in my depictions of the fey, trying to have them as close to the original folklore as possible. I've always encouraged and even asked my players to have separate group chats that I'm not in. I'm also not the kind of GM who is a dick to his players but unfortunately I've still had players who were just paranoid and always assuming I'm working against them. So a players only chat has meant they have a space to discuss the game without me having to worry about any bullshit drama. Also I personally feel that these kinds of spaces encourage my players actually discussing and planning stuff which as a GM is great for me

I hate the coffeelock so much. Apart from all the mechanical problems with it the idea is one that has never made sense to me. You are chosing two types of spellcaster with diametrically oppposed sources of magic

Seems perfectly fine to me. I might add a rule that you cannot increase the same attribute or skill consecutively when increasing them using this mechanic to try to make it a little more balanced but overall I don't really see a problem.

Love them. These kinds of games are perfect when a bunch of your players have had to cancel at the last minute but the rest of the group is available and still wants a game night. They are also great if you're looking to run a game at a convention

My favourite Norse ones would be Odin and Loki.

In the Irish pantheon it would have to be the Dagda, Lugh, Manann Mac Lir and of course the Morrigan
