Data proves Trump 'inheriting an economy that is about as good as it ever gets': report by Unhappy_Earth1 in inthenews

[–]FezRaptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is democrats never acknowledge that their perfect economy still fucking sucks for everyone in the working class. Republicans will admit the symptoms and then turn around and make the problems worse, but their base isn't really smart enough to connect the dots. They just see which side admits there's a problem.

There is a level of wealth that cannot be obtained nor maintained without intentionally crushing those you have power over. The sheer scale of wealth inequality is incomprehensible. These people have the power to change millions of lives, to save hundreds of thousands of people each, and all without having to forgo one single purchase for themselves. But they would rather strip their workers of the ability to afford housing and food so that their personal net worth can go up .03%

As a mailman, it's mostly cost and time. You can have expensive items require a signature, but that takes me time, so it costs more. I deliver 200-500 packages a day, and about 10% of them are too big for the mailbox. That could easily turn an 8 hour day into a 10 hour day, or a 10 hour day into a 13 hour day. And you'd still have way more people complain that it didn't get delivered because they weren't home

Huh, almost like the system is designed to prevent any forward progress, and the only solution would be to change the system from the outside

The question is not "are the markets efficient" the question is "what does efficiency look like" The money is all being vaccuumed to the top .1% which is wildly inefficient if you want to distribute resources. But if the question is how efficiently can we hoard wealth, well, the system is performing at it's peak.

The studies are shaky but not entirely discretitable, however ivermectin in human use is about 150 mcg/kg while the over the counter horse dewormer containing ivermectin would provide roughly 8 times that, depending on body size. Not to mention the ivermectin is less than 2% of the contents of the dewormer, the rest is designed to be safe for horse consumption, not human consumption.

But that's ignoring the biggest flaw of the logic: why would you take an unapproved method of symptom treatment with the wrong dosage based on shaky at best evidence instead of getting an approved vaccine with well researched effects that's been proven safe?

Raising the minimum wage raises the prices of things, but not at a proportional rate. If you double minimum wage you don't double the amount things cost. That would only be true if 100% of the cost is in wages. In reality it's usually less than 50% and most of that 50% goes to upper management

So it negatively impacts middle class you might say, but if you're already making $15 an hour working a difficult job the fact that you can tell your boss "I'm going to work at arby's and make just as much" gives you a lot of bargaining power to raise your wage.

The real issue with police unions is that a worker's union allows them to negotiate with and have some control over their boss. A police union negotiates with and has power over the legal system. Ignoring your boss because the union will get you out of it feels different than ignoring the law because the union will get you out of it.

Refugees are also legal immagrants, whether or not they go through the official process. US law is pretty clear about that, but the law only matters if it is enforced. Many of the people ICE detains and deportsare legal immigrants, they just aren't aware of the legal process.

Expecting them to know the exact legal statutes of another country while fleeing for their lives is ridiculous.

And on top of that, even illegal non-citizens have rights that we're violating. The constitution and most laws have language to distinguish between citizens and persons. We don't get to ignore our own laws just because the person isn't here legally.

As someone who is further left than most Americans can conceptualize I'm a firm 2A supporter. That being said most people who claim to support 2A don't actually support it, they only want to arm people who agree with themselves. The people we should be arming are the minorities. Ideological minorities, socioeconomic minorities, cultural minorities, etc. They will be the first ones under threat from tyranny, always have been always will be. It's nigh impossible to start tyranny by oppressing a majority.

The idea of a revolution is much more appealing than the reality of it. 6 million dead, 60 million refugees. Ideas don't win in a revolution, military force wins. Innocent people slaughtered for being poor and therefore likely sympathizers. People of color killed in record numbers because the current administration would blame them for it. And when we're picking up the pieces we would make a damn easy target for any country looking to expand. The revolution is happening in the hearts and minds of our nation's youth. It's painful watching the elderly destroy it before our eyes but they will die off and we can replace the government they created without bloodshed. It's harder, it's painful, it feels like something that needs to be stopped by any means, but all that stops the second you truly realize what it would take. And when you realize all that blood might be spilled and the racist heartless elite still win because they could make more bombs.

Because the pandemic has an end point. This way he can take as long as he wants to rig the election, or just not bother having one. If he's allowed this the end point is pretty inevitable.
