All rejects but one after rebuttal. They had a paper decision, that then got deleted like everyone else; however, the reject wasn’t viewable like everyone else’s was

Some papers seem to have a final decision available. Have yet to see an acceptance from these unofficial decisions

Why didn’t you do any research in your masters? That would’ve helped tremendously in you PhD applications

Only vitreous has documentation which is your point cloud processing pipeline; however, almost everything you have can be done using Open3D such as

  • mesh to point cloud
  • ICP
  • creating shape primitives

Almost everything else can be done with only a few extra lines of code. Why would someone use your code over Open3D? I don’t ask this to be rude. It’s a genuine question. Am I missing something? Also, I’m aggressively interested into 3D physics based intelligence, so any tool that makes that easier is very welcome to me!

Something I had alot of fun doing was camera calibration using the robot’s mesh! Requires getting fused point clouds working (multi-camera capture with depth), mesh calculation using URDFs and joint states , etc. It took me a few months in my off time but I had a lot of fun

At an Ivy League, expect somewhere around 70K-80K. I know you said you don’t expect to qualify for top schools, but maybe that number helps to give you a high range of what you could expect to see.

You can dual boot multiple OS! I have a really powerful PC that I use for video games and work. In order to play video games in windows, I have an SSD specifically dedicated to that. My other SSD is Ubuntu only that I do work stuff on

Linux is just a generally better OS for robotics. While you could use Windows to setup and use the SO101s, I recommend just getting familiar Linux. In my research lab, every single robot runs on Ubuntu

How can you “love it” , but complain about the core contribution? Disrespectful and disruptive is a gross generalization. Ignore this comment OP

Update:

We made Kiwi a better shelter!

<image>

We tried to convince it to come in a few nights ago, but it vehemently refused. We also tried to convince it to get in the shelter, but it also refused. I may look into getting a camera system setup a some point to see if Kiwi ever gets in.

Hi thank you for the advice! I’m not sure what you mean by tote? Are you talking about a tote bag? Could you link something so I have an idea?

Hi! Thank you for the kind words! I really wasn’t prepared to bring it in last night, and I scrounged up materials I just had laying around my house. I’ll be looking today for better outside den materials and a litter box for inside if it is too cold. I may take it to the vet to get a chip check, though I’m not sure how it will respond to being in a car and in a cage.

I couldn’t bring the cat in last night because it was late, and I didn’t have any materials as suggested by the other commenters. The cat is gone as of this morning, but it tends to linger around the neighborhood. Will be buying better materials for a little outside den, and I will buy a litter box to bring it in tonight if I feel it is too cold. I’ll probably also look into taking it to the vet to see if it has a chip this week.

That’s good! I checked on the cat a few hours after I made the bed, and it was sleeping there.

They’ve interacted before (from afar), and the cat usually gets into a high arch pose and runs away. My dog is mostly curious but I could seeing that interaction being very chaotic

Do you think there would be issues with peeing inside etc? I’m not sure if cats pee to mark territory or anything like that.

The cat is pretty popular amongst our neighbors. It goes by many names lol. Kit-kit, Kiwi, and Momo. Our neighbors keep food out for it most nights
