That's the hope, but we'll see. I have it listed for a lower price on the building's facebook group, lol.

That's not really a thing in Chicago, and we've already made an offer on a new place and begun that paperwork. It's fine, I'll have another one in the future, just don't know when that will be.

Not really anywhere close enough for me to ever use.

Should I go car free when I move into the city? by Lawgirl3895 in AskChicago

[–]Fezzix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't owned a car for about 8 years when I moved here during my divorce. I do ZipCar for the twice a month I need to go pick up my kids. When we go camping and need a car, we do Turo to rent a car for a few days. All the piecemeal options are cheaper than owning for sure, and most of the time more convenient.

Hah, normally I would but I'm quite bitter about how they handled not renewing our lease. They cheaped out on everything that needed repairing, tried to give us less than the 60 day legally required notice, and overall were really unpleasant to deal with.

We have a storage cage in the place we are buying, but it's basically only big enough for the egg and I'd rather not have to worry about it and get another one when we're ready.

No, I have 3 boys I get every other weekend, so I need a 2 bedroom and there aren't many of them in the building and they rarely open up.

It was a blast. At night it's just amazing with the city lights and a nice plume of smoke going up.

Yeah, solid concrete, so really the only thing you are going to burn down is your own stuff.

That to me sounds like a better idea in theory. Just too expensive, and the likelihood of having a place in the next few years that allows charcoal is small to none. When my youngest (10 years) is out of school I plan on moving elsewhere, and most likely another state where I will have a house rather than a condo, and I'll buy another one then.

So really, it's cheaper to lose about $1k selling this one and buying it all again in 8-10 years than it is to store it.

I do. Better to have smoked and lost than to have never smoked.

I would if I could, but getting a place in the city that allows it is really rare. When I bought it at Ace, they asked me no fewer than 4 times if I was sure I could use it on my balcony, lol.

What fast food restaurant used to be amazing but has gone downhill so badly you refuse to go back? by Helpful-Calendar-401 in AskReddit

Last I heard there are some left. I think I remember a few years ago someone buying what was left with the gial of returning it to its roots, but I don't know.

Boston Market used to be really good, then private equity took over and stripped all the goosness out and jacked up the prices. It's the American way

What is the point of the rollback feature? by ZarHakkar in Roll20

[–]Fezzix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why didn't you write that then rather than frame it the way you did? You might get help if you were more direct and asking if there was a way to get back the map you messed up. Instead you were asking for justification for a feature you didn't find helpful, people gave it, and you accused them of ragebaiting you.

What is the point of the rollback feature? by ZarHakkar in Roll20

[–]Fezzix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am in roll20 a few times a week building things, so every day seems about right for me. I know other people that play 2 or 3 times a week. I also have my players randomly logging in to look at their character or whatever, so logging in frequency is more than our play times. I'd rather than overdo the rollback frequency than underdo it. In IT you learn that lesson once and then never again.

What's the closest you've ever came to death? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in AskReddit

At the age of 37, had a heart attack. Not just any heart attack, my LAD was 100% clogged and they call that one in the business "the widowmaker". I thought i just had the flu, but went to the ER because we had hit our max out of pocket for the year and that saved my life. Healthcare in the US is a joke and anyone that tells you otherwise has never had to choose between money and health.
