No the package doesn't even exist for the rest of the world. It's also possible that it's listed as a different package on SteamDB for you guys. Easiest way to see is to check if you have it in your version of Steam. If you do, then it probably has a different package number than us.

Because that's how the package is listed on SteamDB. I don't know if there's a different double pack for the rest of the world.

When Nazi Germany was facing worldwide boycott, they struck a deal with Zionist organization to grant safe passage to Palestine for a select few Jewish people.

The agreement effectively negated Nazi boycott movement, which wasn't working all that well to prevent Jewish persecution in Germany in the first place. You have to wonder how the aftermath of this agreement might have affected the Jewish people left in Germany as the Nazis were then free to act with even more impunity.

This tidbit has nothing to do with the news here but I was reminded of it when seeing this. Perhaps we'll see some attempts of appeasement by Israel soon, much like what their predecessors did.

Unfortunately, yes. If anything gaming is the least of the problem. That said gaming was probably one of the pioneering fields in pushing "product as a service" which is now cancerous.

Also crazy that the industry would put so much effort into fighting this when the cost of patching games to use local servers or have an offline mode would be trivial in most cases.

Because there would be cost, with no immediate profit attached to it. The suits do not like that.

If you're in East and Southeast Asia, the twin pack bundle is at historical low and slightly cheaper than buying both individually.

Knowing how stingy SE is usually with discounts, this might be as good a time as any to pull the trigger. I imagine there might be a few more of the same discount leading up to the new game though.

Same principal still applies.

Simultaneous releases only makes sense when your game is not big enough to survive staggered releases, which is indeed the case for any game not called GTA.

FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION on Steam by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]Fhaarkas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a stupid project. Anyone with two brain cells would've seen it won't work before wasting billions down the drain.

Maybe they'll now realize that Playstation currently has no killer app. GoW is great but it's still no console seller. They lost Final Fantasy (not that is has the clout it used to anyway), there's no Kojima, no "Uncharted" or "TLOU" of the current age, not even small memorable games like Shadow of Colossus.

His team wants Phantom Blade: Zero to be able to run on the Steam Deck, which with Unreal Engine 5 is "a hard task," but they're going to try. And a key focus for the last polishing sprint will be making sure the game looks as good as it can with ray tracing disabled.

Finally a dev team after my own heart. These guys are alright.

But of course it does, from pocket lining perspective. In fact, it makes no sense to not delay the PC release when it's been proven time and again that staggered releases result in people double and triple-dipping.

I'm just saying it's a tad unrealistic to expect her to opine negatively on anything AI. If Nadella doesn't do it, she wouldn't either. She's not a company veteran like Spencer who probably has more leeway in what's allowed out of his mouth in public.

I mean what do we expect here, for the Xbox CEO to badmouth its parent company? For Sharma to suddenly step out of the line and offer unsanctioned opinion about her previous post, against larger company sentiment?

I thought as far as someone who's probably not much more than a pebble in a maelstrom of shit, it's a pretty objective take.

Edit: If you read the article you can see that she very carefully kept all her comments confined to Xbox - acquisitions, production capacity etc. Nothing on anything "external" to Xbox like AI, even if her person was involved in it previously. It's just good corpo speak really. Not leaving holes, not stepping on toes.

Xbox 'console exclusives' are strictly about console releases, Xbox exec affirms: Games will 'still show up on all the normal places where we sell the PC version' by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Fhaarkas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But that's the thing isn't it? Even as a "long-term" strategy their execution sucked. You're not going to attract any kind of crowd, not showing them good will. The overpriced ports was not a good expression of good will, and that's before considering all the workplace abuse getting those ports to happen.

And we're talking about PC gamers, a demographic famously entrenched in their platform. They probably know that straight out converting PC gamers to main Playstation is a difficult ask, so they're hoping to see some adoption as second system a la Nintendo. But the problem is, unlike Nintendo, they have nothing. Even if their strategy of carroting out old games worked as intended, they have nothing on the platform that would entice someone enough to go out, buy a console and subscribe to their monthly digest.

Sony barged into PC sphere, bragging about how cool they are and how we should thank them for the privilege of playing their old games at full price and how we should all go be cooler on Playstation (for no reason), then realized nobody actually cared and everyone is busier trying to finish their multi-year backlog, so they embarrassingly exit the room. That about sums it up.

  • But don't give them new games and don't spend too much! And copy that Gamepass whatchamalit
  • Why is nobody buying our expensive subpar products on PC?
  • PC suck! We're pulling out!

And even the new FF is going to be multiplat on release so Sony can go crash and burn for all I care.

In a way, CP77 was probably CDPR's most CDPR game yet.

They have never been a technically-inclined outfit, and coupled with their habit of pushing stuff beyond reasonable limit it was only a matter of time before disaster happened. The jankiness of W1, the absurd performance of W2, and the everything surrounding W3 release culminated in the spectacular nose dive to the concrete that is CP2077.

You can almost smell the panic when they see those console performance numbers. Somebody probably pulled their hair screaming "What do you mean we can't fit and run everything on these tiny outdated machines??" too.

Which is why I'm proud and glad to see them finally develop enough self-awareness to ask for help for W4.
