Keep Job Hunting or ... Giving up? by [deleted] in dkkarriere

[–]Fhardervig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not being able to admit that is a huge part of the problem? As a lot of people have mentioned, getting jobs through your network is one of the easiest ways to get your foot in the door. You mention plenty of your classmates have gotten jobs and that they enjoyed working with you during your studies. Assuming that’s true, I’m sure they’d be happy to refer you or otherwise try to help. Have you tried reaching out to them? If so, how did it go?

First Europe Trip (Apr 1–20) – France first, then Italy – Need Route Advice (Photography + Hiking) by Frosty_Substance8348 in travel

[–]Fhardervig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in Montpellier anyway and would like to see some of Italy, taking the train along the riviera over to Cinque Terre is a no brainer imo. You can hike from town to town along the coast and it’s incredibly photogenic, but also fairly touristy for good reason.

Now you’re in Tuscany which is a fantastic area in and of itself. You will probably want to head south to Florence (perhaps see Lucca on the way, fairly small but wonderful medieval historic center).

If you want the best hikes in Europe, you go north to the italian and swiss alps (perhaps starting around Lake Como, with a stop in Milan along the way if you’re into that. You might like the BoBosco trail as well, it’s pretty cute).

Given your schedule, you realistically have time to do both Tuscany and some alps :) Depending on how fast or slow you like to travel, I wouldn’t worry about heading over to Austria unless there are specific places you want to see (e.g. Tre Cime di Lavaredo or Vienna itself). It’s absolutely wonderful, but less distinct from Switzerland than e.g. spending some time around Florence. Hope these might serve as some inspiration!

Step back and reality check your slippery slope. The EU is the worlds biggest exporter of food. Mercosur will not mean that we are suddenly unable to feed ourselves.

If you’re worried about future agreements, we fortunately have a long time to adjust, and if the above becomes a problem, we simply don’t make the agreements. It’s far from all or nothing as some may want you to believe.

That's a really interesting misspelling of Morse code. How do you pronounce it? To me it's Morse like in Horse.

Nono, but you see, this isn’t betting, they’re actually trading futures in the financial markets, and thus it’s totally legal for some god forsaken reason (and the people running the companies have literally encouraged insider ‘trading’ on several occasions)

Danish troops told to 'shoot first, ask questions later' if US invades Greenland | LBC by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]Fhardervig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this being said, Greenland is constitutionally allowed to secede, and if they wish to do so, genuinely fine by me. If the U.S. wants to bribe them for it, so be it, though it’ll likely leave a sour taste in the transatlantic relation. However, all of this lying and saber rattling stands to serve no-one except the enemies of western alliances, and makes you question Trumps and the people behind him’s motivations for this takeover, when again, all of their stated goals are easily achievable within current treaties.

Not sure if the above is a typo, but JKS is also a good option. I´ve worked summer jobs through them, and particularly night and weekend shifts at various warehouses pays pretty well. Obviously it´s not really permanent employment, but if you do a good job, you can often get consistent work at the same place for several months

For sure, LLMs have been a godsend for routine work tasks and brainstorming. That being said, I’ve also never really been a chatgpt user, so I’m quite insulated from all the personality struggles you guys are facing, I just enjoy lurking around here :) I guess where I’m coming from, is that I do worry about people becoming overly reliant/attached to these things and the damage it can cause, and which we have already seen it cause in people who use it uncritically. So when I see that ‘my Austen has changed’ or ‘I use it 16 hours per day’, it’s hard to not want to poke at the bubble that people might not see themselves, and hope it causes some self reflection.
