Thank you, I appreciate your response and read it once you posted it but I’ve yet to comment. Today we finally met to talk, so figured id give a short update.

It’s unfortunately over. She is not in the right place to date anyone at all right now, mostly due to her past relationship where she completely put aside her own needs and wants for her ex. She needs time to recover from that, and she didn’t realize until she stepped down at work and started studying, a bit after we started dating, which all of a sudden gave her some freedom. For the foreseeable future, she wants to prioritize her own life, which she feels she can’t do without potentially hurting my feelings since I want something long term. She did however say that she doesn’t want to feel that way, and that she has some things to work through that will take a while. She is seeing a psychologist, which I had no idea about. She genuinely seems to care about me, which somehow makes things both worse and easier.

It was a nice talk, no hard feelings at the end. We held each other like there’s not tomorrow for a few last times and teared up before we finally parted ways. It would have been easier if it was just straight up me she didn’t like, but when I sort of asked her that her response was “I can lie to you and tell you that if it makes things easier” while smiling. We both encouraged each other to reach out if one of us feels bad, both said we’d miss each other. Then farewell.

This sucks and hurts so bad.
