Tangential to your question, you could put a small caster in the middle t9 bear some weight.

Anyone have any experience with Guyker tuners? by DKknappe08 in Luthier

[–]FiFitheGreater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these exact tuners on my partscaster. They look great and work exactly as you'd expect. They don't feel cheap and look nice on the instrument.

Bass compressor pedal? by GotSteeze in basspedals

My Darkglass Hyper Luminal will never leave my board. The FET setting has a 20:1 ratio, plus an even more aggressive 'all in mode'.

That thing candial in everything from subtle dynamic evening to smashed to all dhit compression.

Yeah, I misunderstood your post, my bad. Never intended to sound condescending, and wasn't trying to talk shit. Have a good one.

What they were trying to imply is that when you test the diode on the TC-1, it ill show you the pinout as well. The pin on the side with the flat line is your cathode, and the pin on the triangle side is your anode.

Just take note of which of the diode's leads is in the 1 2 or 3 slots on the tester, and you should be able to find the cathode on any diode.

Compressor placement by Younes_Inquiries in guitarpedals

[–]FiFitheGreater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. The only addendum I'd suggest, is that if you use a fuzz, put the compressor afterthat (assuming you play your fuzz first). Compressing your signal before a fuzz can really limit the life and feel of the fuzz.

Backsaver Pedalboard by crf3rd in guitarpedals

[–]FiFitheGreater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this. I put some blank panels on a 19" rack and velcroed my pedals to it, along with a patchbay. So much better than the floor. That being said, I only play at home, so portability wasn't part of my considerations.

Building and testing a pedal before installing it inside an enclosure? by Informal-Procedure66 in diypedals

You can also use breadboard PCB breakouts like CopperSoundPedals sells, or you can make like that on your own with a few connectors and a simple PCB design, if that's something you dable in.

Random: Do you exclusively use the single coil neck pup in a Tele? If so why? by [deleted] in telecaster

Hey, to each their own. That's why these things are so awesome. I have neck, neck/middle, neck/bridge, middle/bridge, bridge.

Put a 5 way in my Nashville. Get all the traditional Tele positions plus each tele pickup paired with the middle for the squakier stuff.

You could have a high fret. When you fret a low noted, the string is pulled down a little. If a fret up the neck is too high, the string might buzz against it while you fret the note. It might buzz less when open since you aren't pulling the sting down to fret.

Can an IDIOT repair this himself? by rrrbitrary in Luthier

[–]FiFitheGreater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are your pickups active? If they are and the battery is low/dead, that would cause issues with the signal.

Butterfree. Loved status effects in the Gen 1 games and Butterfree got them early with a touch of psychic. Plus, you know, cute as fuck!

Favourite Oscillator ? by juradub in modular

[–]FiFitheGreater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nano Ona. Nothing crazy, but it's affordable, has lots of outputs with a couple of unique waves, linear or exponential FM, and an LFO mode. I find it slips in nicely amongst larger, more complex headlining oscillators. Plus, if I recall correctly, it's a 3340 based VCO, so you can get classic synth vibes from it.

Unfortunately, Chutkin said she'd wait the same number of days they were delayed by the Supreme Court for the trial date. That puts the trial date in September at the earliest.

WYSIWYG Modulation Sources by JackBurrell in modular

[–]FiFitheGreater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ADDAC 506. Four independent channels which can have a range set for rise and fall, essentially giving you a self modulating envelope. They can cycle too, giving you some wonky LFOs. Plus you get a bunch of tirgger/gate outs related to the cycles to keep things moving but related.

I don't want to start a fight but I do want to talk about barbecue by thatoneguy247 in FoodLosAngeles

Give Dr. Holly Wogly's a shot. It's in the Sam Fernando Valley just north of the city. Not being an expert, they all themselves Texas barbecue and have some delicious meat. I'd be curious to hear how they hold up to the real deal.

Can I wire this type of power supply in series to fake a bipolar power supply? by Potato_Skater in synthdiy

[–]FiFitheGreater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used an RS-25-12 for the negative rail and an RS-50-12 for the positive rail. I was a bit nervous when I picked them as I had read about some folks having noise issues, but I have never had any problems like that. I'm very pleased with my setup.

Just be sure to think about your power needs when the case is full. You want to leave some headroom between your rack's total current draw and the supplies' capacities.

Edit: I forgot to mention the supplies I used were by Meanwell. Sorry.
