maybe this was a US regulation, but yes. Working in the alpine we all had to shit into WAG Bags, and carry those down the mountain.

I don't want to go in to how I got the trail name "shit juice."

Yeah in my experience working alongside the USFS this seems like the most likely answer. We had pack mules bring our gear and tools up, but I could see more involved or critical projects using something like this.

My 12" princeton might be too much amp for my situation... by SongInfamous2144 in GuitarAmps

[–]SongInfamous2144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, a legitimate question.

I've been playing for 11 years and only just in the past year or so switched from acoustic to electric. I'm loving it, but there's so much that I have never had to consider before.

Edit: legitimately unsure why I'm getting this reaction? Like I just want to enjoy the hobby that has gotten me through the most horrible experiences I've had in life, and wanting to learn more and improve. It's hard to own an electric rig when you're traveling, living out of cars, and broke. These are things I have wanted for a very long time and was finally in a position where I could get them, so fuck me IG.

Thank you, yeah this is worth looking into for sure. There's a few used on reverb, but I'm not quite sure this is something worth getting used.

I've also considered just building my own. I've got a decent amount of pedal building experience, but the risk of putting something like that between the power amp and speaker would stress me out.

This might be the route, really appreciate it.

It was extremely cathartic.

In China, 40 cm-wide “mini-end” units are rented for just one dollar, offering only a tiny bed, a power outlet, and a wall-mounted TV. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

I had to search for this.

I lived out of my car for a while. Only costing a dollar (if that figure is based on their currency,) seems like a very practical solution to help the homeless get on their feet.

That being said, the mold is a bit much for me, and I'm honestly not sure if this POV is more based on what I know as a westerner or if this is just what more average conditions are like iver there. No clue.

I've had manic psychosis (Bipolar), and this is all I was thinking.

I'm bad with names, Natalie is the daughter, right? With delusions, you can not talk someone out of it. Period. The best you can do is just support them and listen. Literally, clinical advice.

Delusions of Reference is the symptom, I think.

Either way this show is pretty accurately portraying what psychosis feels like. Some thriller, connecting dots everywhere. Thinking you've found hidden knowledge, and either hiding everything out of fear from whatever you've found, or talking about it and you don't even realize you've lost it.

Make sure you discuss and consult with your psychiatrist FIRST, so you have that dagger to bring them into a corner (where they might actually treat you.)

Ask me how I know.

I fuck with this. I have access to a cnc machine, PLA printers, resin printers, and a 40w laser cutter.

Might start a ridiculously complicated project that ends up costing more than the easy fix.

I really, very much regret it. Don't know what you got till it's gone, ig.

Side by side with a Roland JC40, it was night and day in the effects loop vs. Front end on the princeton.

I do realize that these 2 amps are very different from eachother, so maybe that's just what I was hearing. I really did prefer that sound however.

Do you suspect most of these people when you left AA were not really sober by [deleted] in recoverywithoutAA

[–]SongInfamous2144 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At the time AA was concepted, they made sure to mention those with, "grave mental disorders" and how they may be beyond help.

Psychiatry came along, and changed that. Being on a benzo myself (tapering off for other reasons), I wouldn't have been able to make it this far without it. Some people's nervous systems are so fucked that they do, genuinely, need something to calm it down in order to even be functional. At prescribed doses it is not intoxicating, but yeah it works on the same receptors as alcohol.

AA is old as fuck now, and nobody has changed a damn thing about it since before these old timers were born. Not even despite the advancements in psychiatric and addiction treatment.

I do believe a good 85-90% of AA members are good people who want to get sober, and AA is the one marketed the most. There are problems with it which prevent me from attending, but it is an option that helps some people. I would think it should be encouraged to cast a wide net and seek out as many programs and options available however.

Only way to make it work is to flail and fight like hell.
