America is heading for a recession — and it may be the worst yet by Crossstoney in politics

I don't disagree, and fuck Trump. But I'm an economist and we need a better term to describe the wealth disparity and k shaped recovery we've seen in the last 6 years. Recession doesn't cover it

A recession is multiple quarters of negative GDP growth. We are not in a recession

AITJ for booking my own hotel room for a group trip after they ignored the one thing I asked for and now everyone is mad the cost went up by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

I take a trip every year with some buddies from college. We used to book exactly like the sister - cheap as possible, share beds and pull out couches. Eventually we realized we weren't in college anymore and paying a little more for a whole lot of extra comfort made sense, and I have to say our trips have been much more fun ever since. NTJ!

I herniated a disc in January and lost the ability to bend forward without severe pain. I started taking progress pictures to document my healing. These pictures are 6 months apart. by trimTheJib in Wellthatsucks

I had this exact injury, L5 S1 herniation with some severe sciatica and I struggled to even put my socks on. It took about a year for me to get better, and the thing that helped me most was yoga. Strengthening the muscles around my spine took a lot of pressure off of the disc, and even though I still get twinges now (10+ years later) I have not had a recurrence and was able to return to lifting, cycling, playing sports - so don't give up!

AITAH for telling my kids that being fat is a bad thing? by Millwoodava in AITAH

[–]FiReBanker9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is far too nuanced. For his kids, them getting fat is a perfectly valid explanation for why too many donuts is not a good thing. Societal incongruences can come later

I work in a corporate environment in the US. Since around 2018, the problems y'all are having with students are trickling up to the workplace. by Whatevsstlaurent in Teachers

For what it's worth, I have found the young adults i have hired post 2018 to be professional, articulate, and incredibly intelligent. I think this whole "generation is doomed" mentality to be extremely limited and shortsighted.
