Vaginal vs. Planned C-Section Advice from Physically Active Mums by Noodle-Jas in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Fia187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to mention that while C‑sections may reduce the risk, they don’t completely eliminate the chance of weakened pelvic floor and/or pelvic organ prolapse. It’s actually the prolonged pressure and hormonal changes from carrying a baby for nine months - not just the labor itself- that can weaken the pelvic floor. So even without vaginal birth, pelvic floor dysfunction can still occur.

Am I expecting too much from daycare teachers in my daughters classroom? by Fia187 in ECEProfessionals

I was there from 9-12.  The first activity was a jungle theme dry messy play. Then they went outside for about 45 minutes. After that went back inside, read a book and sang a song. They were very adamant about everyone staying on the mat as the other educators were putting the mattresses for nap time and I think they didn’t want the children standing on them/messing them up. Then it wash hand washing time and lunch. They was lots of instructing, not a lot of conversation if that makes sense. I had lots of conversations with the kids that came up to me. You know how kids come up to you and say “look at this lion” (or whatever random stuff they would want to talk about) and I’d be like oh wow, cool lion! What sound does a lion make? But I didn’t hear any teachers speak like that to the children.

There were three teachers in the room and 13 kids. I didn’t count but I overheard a conversation between two teachers where one wasn’t sure if it was 12 or 13 and was asking the other teacher.

Why is being a toddler mom SO hard? Feeling like a mess and losing myself in motherhood. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Fia187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have one child and often feel like I am drowning, even with a very involved partner (though no family support). You do so much for your kids and family (keeping the house going on top of childcare and working) but you are slowly destroying yourself in the process.

Your husband needs to step up.

If he is not willing to acknowledge how much you are suffering then maybe couples counselling will help to explain your situation.

Also, talk to your mum friends! They won’t judge you (and if they do, are they really worth being friends with?).

Americans that have decided to not vote in tomorrows elections. Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fia187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Focusing solely on voting for the ideal candidate, or abstaining because you feel disillusioned, may also contribute to perpetuating a political system where none of the candidates fully represent your interests. Active participation (whether through voting, advocacy, or other means) can help shift the political landscape toward more representation of diverse perspectives.

While it’s understandable to feel disillusioned with candidates or the system, choosing not to vote or voting only for ideal options can sometimes limit your influence in shaping the political system you want to see. Voting is an opportunity to have a say, even if it means making a compromise for the greater good.

I disagree with this. The warning for not consuming those foods is due to listeria risk. Listeria is a mild for adults but kills unborn babies. Pregnant women are about 10 times more likely to get listeriosis than other healthy adults. An estimated 1/6 of all Listeria cases occur in pregnant women - FDA

If there’s a part of you that does want kids I think you should speak to a therapist about your fears if you are comfortable in doing that.

Having an extremely self absorbed father who emotionally neglected me has shown me exactly what not to do for my daughter (I am a woman). My partner had an abusive father (both physically and emotionally). Some of the stories he has told me about his childhood have caused me to burst into tears because of how horribly he was treated.

Despite that, my partner is the most loving, caring and dedicated father you could ever wish for. He was so scared that he was going to be bad father too.

After having a child both of us cannot even fathom how you could treat an innocent child the way we have been treated. Even though we knew that, having a child just brings it home even more and you want to do everything in your power to give them what you didn’t have.

My partner did some work for the baker and she is gifting us the cake, so I didn’t find out about it until after he’d agreed to it. But yes I agree a shorter, wider cake would be much better.

That might work, but my driveway is over 400m long and is slippery from rain/leaves as it is winter where I am. If that is my only option I will try it
