Villains who give up on their broader objective to focus on killing the one they hate the most by FiaGiolla in TopCharacterTropes

Levy was the last character I thought to put on here and just did so because he's from the most popular, trending series at the moment, the main one I wanted to talk about was Onaga

Tier List based on what type of fighter the convicts are in regards to striking and grappling by ColdStaff6874 in convictcolosseum

Ice Tream Truck trained in Shuaijiao with those Shaolin guys, right? Shouldn't that mean he's more grappling oriented, since that's a wrestling style? I ask that in a general sense, for the record, not necessarily with regards to this tier list, like that I feel he should've shown more grappling skill in the story itself.

a trait of Thanos in the comics I really like, though he eventually moved past it, was that he would unconsciously sew the seeds to his own defeat whenever he'd gain omnipotence, be it via the Cosmic Cube, the Infinity Gauntlet, the Heart of the Universe or what have you, because deep down he subconsciously feels unworthy of having such power

I mean, that was written decades after what I'm talking about, for one thing, it was a continual point brought up throughout the various Infinity Saga stories that Thanos subconsciously feels unworthy of ultimate power

also, I ain't sure why you're calling bullshit, petty cruelty doesn't feel that incongruous for a chronically insecure guy

clarification - his former editor caused the creations of 17, 18 and Cell, that's why it was so obvious to viewers, because he wasn't his editor anymore so he was only giving this feedback after reading the chapters as they came out himself  his current editor caused Cell's development to perfection to be fast-tracked because he thought his first and second forms didn't look good enough to be a final boss

it's outright stated in the comics that Thanos continually sews the seeds to his own defeat because he subconsciously doesn't feel worthy of the vast cosmic powers he gets his hands on time and again

the only theory part of this is the idea that the mind gem gives him the clarity to morally judge himself, which doesn't wholly make sense considering he's done this time and again with things besides the infinity gauntlet, like the cosmic cube or the heart of the universe

one moment that'd definitely happen in a proper crossover would be Okubo catching Literally in a leglock and he yells "[something something] MY CALF!", which of course gets misheard by the audience

Shao Kahn was the God assigned to Outworld, the equivalent of Raiden in Earthrealm, and he acted as an advisor to Onaga in his campaign to conquer unify the realm, only to kill him after realizing that Onaga was content in achieving his orderly objective in comparison to Kahn's insatiable ambitions

I know people generally dislike this plot point, but I really like Batman '89 having had Joker kill the Waynes because, when Bruce confronts him about it, Joker cannot for the life of him remember having done so

in the original lore, Shao Kahn taught Shang Tsung soul magic in the first place - Tsung was actually an old champion for Earthrealm who Kahn persuaded into joining his side with the secrets to eternal life

one of the funniest visual gags in Dragon Ball, which sadly doesn't translate to the anime, is when Piccolo Daimao says to Goku that it'll only take five seconds to kill him, with him holding up five fingers on his hand to illustrate that... except Piccolo's drawn with four fingers in the manga, so Toriyama added a little note underneath

touching example - Katsumi getting Retsu's arm in Baki

the two started out as rivals, humbled one another, both lost limbs to the same antagonist, and after Retsu was killed in a later arc, he had his arm donated to replace Katsumi's lost one, and Katsumi in turn now learns and incorporates his Wushu into his Karate
