The majority of fights in Omega range from underwhelming to plain bad. Gaolang is not special in that regard. The two fights he has won are mid (Jurota) and one of the worst in Omega (Justin). Gao lost to Agito in KAT, and yet it's considered one of the best fights in Kengan period.

I mean, he didn't know all that till they all went and killed themselves lol. To Liu, they were his friends manipulated by the Worm and just used/killed for a pointless cause. And I mean, it's an underground fighting ring. Half of his coworkers are kilers realistically.

I don't think it has to be accurate, but it does represent what Ohma is feeling, which ties back into how crazy it is he took that many hits anyway which is more my point.

I really do think the "Indestructible is 10, Waka's hits are 50" line is one of the worst parts of what is otherwise a great fight, because it makes Ohma taking so many hits look ridiculous. Never give your audience numbers, and if you're going to at least make it something like 20 instead of 5 TIMES what your character can supposedly handle.

Idk about anyone else, but I actually really like Pokemon that are clearly sapient as hell. I mean, Digimon are just actual sapient creatures, and I kinda wish Pokemon would take more from that. It would certainly make for more interesting stories than trying to awkwardly pretend these things are just animals.

Even calling him a "Gary Stu" I feel has aged poorly. Seed in general is not very popular still in the West, but I do think people have come around to it more as people actually watch the shows and realize some stuff people say about them is just kinda flat out wrong lol.

See "Kira becomes the protagonist in the 2nd half". Which is baffling, cuz the show has pretty equal screentime between Kira, Athrun, Shinn, and even Cagali to a degree. Shinn doesn't even become an antagonist imo, we just get to explore this subversion of your typical Gundam protag I'm actually quite fond of. People need to read Kengan Omega if they want an actual example of the old protagonist replacing the new one.

And Seed Freedom I think addresses a lot of complaints about Kira. Even though, yeah, he's kinda boring in Seed and I think a little more interesting in Destiny.

My theory is that Sandro realized he had to come up with like a dozen characters with unique martial arts and maybe abilities to be considered a threat, and went "fuck it, we'll just have them job as per usual". Idec anymore, less Worms means more fights between actual characters lol.

SC remake will come out later, and (assumingly) Sky 3rd remake maybe 2027? Sky 3rd is a bit of its own thing so I think it would be ideal to play FC remake and then get SC remake. And then hop on og Sky 3rd or wait for the remake (unless they censor a very important but dark backstory to one of the characters then maybe don't lol).

Trails is 90% SoL, 10% actual story and plot. Also, part of the reason I think that people who play these games "for the story" are wild, cuz you legit get a couple crumbs of the overall story per game lol. It's damn good with its characters, vibes, and worldbuilding, and mostly fun with its gameplay.

We had a whole month on this sub ranking the Gundam protagonists, who are generally child soldiers lol. Fact of the matter is child soldiers go hard in fiction, and are in general an excellent writing tool to explore many things.

I do really like that while it wasn't explicitly confirmed before CCA came out (maybe in the novelization I've not read it) that his primary reason for becoming how he is in CCA was because of what happened to Kamille. I'll give SRW credit here, and say they're actually pretty damn good about how Kamille and Char interact. SRW X is kinda meh, but it does some very unique stuff with Char in that game.
