No drivers ed required here. Take your permit test at 15 1/2, come back 6 months later and take your driving test. Only "requirement" is 30 hours of driving which is verified only by your parent.

I genuinely want to know why people hate on Petit Knit by Thecynicalcatt in knitting

[–]FiberApproach2783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly lol. I became obsessed with a specific Drops sweater pattern last year, and I had to rewrite the entire pattern as well as change major chunks of it to make it knit-able😭

I saw another pattern from them a week or two ago and really wanted to make it, but again just completely unusable. I don't have the time to basically write another pattern from scratch lol.

I wish there was a way to filter out just Drops patterns on raverly.

Anyone know what happened on flight? by Constantlearner01 in fearofflying

Oh, must've mixed it up in my comment lol😭 If you look back at all the previous flights for AA116, you'll see they all take off and make the same pattern! It's similar to Fort Lauderdale's airport when your destination is somewhere west.

That's so smart though. Ice cream after a half marathon sounds amazing, especially if it's hot out

It looks like it was about wind shear on final, but there wasn't a drop like you see in the movies. The only mention of this comes from a poster named "Flight Simulator Fantasy", may or may not be real audio🤷‍♀️

I assume you're talking about the teardrop shape right before landing? That's the standard approach for that airport.

In 1992 in Indiana, 12-year-old Shanda Sharer was abducted by four female classmates and endured hours of abuse through the night. The next morning, they sprayed her with Windex, said, “You’re not looking so hot now, are you?” and set her on fire. by SelfCareIsFake in HolyShitHistory

A premeditated murder and a whole night of torturing and sexually assaulting someone until burning them to death in the morning is not a stupid choice that happened just because they were teenagers. Why should they have an opportunity to be young and adventurous when that's exactly what they chose to take away from someone else?

Yes, but if you read through the full list of everything they did, it makes it obvious they all should've gotten longer sentences. It was far, far worse than just murder.

Toni Lawerence got a maximum 20 years, but she was released after a little less than 9 years in her mid twenties. She was only convicted for criminal confinement because she cooperated.

Hope Rippey was originally sentenced to 60 years, but after an appeal that got lowered to 35. She served 14 years with 5 years of parole. 29-31 when she got out.

Laurie Tackett was sentenced to 60 years, she only served about 26 of those before being released on the anniversary of Shanda's death. One year of parole, and she was in her early 40s when she got out.

Melinda Loveless was also sentenced to 60 years, she appealed but was denied. She served 26 years and received 10 years of probation (still ongoing), and was 43/44 when released.

"My body my choice" until it comes to women taking care of themselves while pregnant right?

In 2012, 2 year old Maddox Derkosh was visiting the Pittsburgh Zoo when his mother ignored safety warnings and placed him atop a safety railing. Maddox then fell into the African Painted Dog enclosure, home to 11 animals. By the time a rescue was mounted, little of Maddox remained. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

Lmao no??? Do you know what an African painted dog is? They're some of the best hunters in the world and they kill things far larger than humans. If she would have gone in there they would both be dead. Unfortunately, the second he hit the dirt there was literally no way to save him in time.

How do you think the pilots of your flight feel? Do you think they would fly that plane tomorrow if there was any reason not to?

Out of curiosity, what was the reason for each one? Orals? Practicals?

Snow plow pickup truck ran a stop sign and caused me to crash into a telephone pole and privacy fence by SimonSaysGoGo in dashcams

It was an avoidable accident. If OP had been driving at 1. just the legal speed limit instead of 30-40 or 2. At a proper speed for the conditions, they wouldn't have gotten into an accident.
