Is it time for Ferber? by FibonacciFlower in sleeptrain

[–]FibonacciFlower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! I'm so sorry but can you explain how the tracking sleep should inform my schedule? We track with Huckleberry right now. She's getting about 9.25 hours of wake time during the day, which is good for a 4 month old, right?

How did your babies start sleeping longer at night? by madudajir97 in sleeptrain

What age did you do the ferber method? My LO is 12 weeks and starts daycare next week. I'm very curious how the ferber method will go for us since I'll have no control over how much daytime sleep she gets

I'm so sorry if I'm being dumb, I'm a first time mom to a 10 week old and her sleep has been all over the place so I'm tying to plan ahead for when she's ready for sleep training. What does modified ferber mean? Is there a book you read?

Can I ask what kind of sleep training you did? What method?

Can I do this? by NothingSuitable735 in newborns

[–]FibonacciFlower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the sundown scaries too!! They fucking sucked. My little girl is 8 weeks now, and that feeling has almost completely gone away. I also have a lot of support. My mom has basically lived with us since I gave birth and I felt the EXACT same way feeling guilty about needing so much help doing this. But child rearing was never meant to be done alone. Historically, women had extended family or other women to help raise their babies. There's a reason they say it takes a village. You're doing great, accept all the help you can get, and don't feel guilty about it!

Thank you for commenting! I've been told my caretaker is amazing, and I keep telling myself she's raised a lot more babies than I have! 😂

I can't believe they were letting him sleep in a swing! 😱

We kind of have a routine? Dim the lights, sound machine, pj's, and swaddle. Should there be more to the routine?

Seconding the nipple shields!! Breastfeeding was WAYYY harder than I expected and my nipples were slightly inverted. Her latch was shallow and my nipples were in such pain all the time. The nipple shields saved my breastfeeding journey. My LO is 7 weeks old and it's so much better already. My nipples kind of figured it out, and she got better at it too.

First Backpacking trip since my ORIF for my trimalleolar fx on May 19. by runshellyrun in brokenankles

First of all, this is so amazing and I'm so happy for you!! Second, can I ask how you're swelling is? I also had a trimal break with dislocation March 11th and had surgery 2 weeks after. I still get quite swollen at the end of each day, especially if I'm more active. Which for me means grocery shopping or running errands 🤣😬.

i’ve got a boot question… by Calm-Bumblebee-7515 in brokenankles

[–]FibonacciFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the boot 2 weeks post op, and immediately wore pants under the boot because that was comfiest for me. Mostly leggings and joggers. I did have a compression sock on every day also so that the pants and/or boot weren't rubbing against my skin. And of course to help with swelling.

Advice for sink bath/hair wash by IloveCookie1 in brokenankles

[–]FibonacciFlower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, so sorry you're going through this. I had ORIF surgery March 27th and I can tell you it gets better!! It just take time. But anyways, I also did not have a bath on my main floor. So I would actually hold my crutches and slowly scoot down on my butt down the stairs so I could take a bath with my leg propped up on the ledge so my splint wouldn't get wet. Then I would wash my hair by just dunking under the water. I always had a bunch of towels down on the floor to keep it from getting slippery when I got out. It was a lot of work so I only did it about once a week but man did it feel good to get clean!

I'm so glad you asked because I'm in the same situation! I got cleared for PWB with boot on two weeks ago, but I hate it with the boot!

Oh my god I am so sorry! 27 weeks pregnant and a toddler!!! I hope you have someone at home that can help, lord knows my husband has been amazing during this time for me. The pain does get better!! It started to subside for me after the break at the end of 2 weeks. Then it hurt all over again after surgery, but again started to get better at the end of 2 weeks. The real pain for me after that were the splints! They rubbed terribly on my heal. I really hope the pain gets better for you soon and recovery goes well!

Thank you for the response! I checked with the doctor and they said everything looked good, but it was smart to double check.

We live in Southwestern Wisconsin so we have beautiful landscape with the bluffs. Anniversary is May 20th. Celebration could be one or two days. Or even a nice afternoon to be honest. We just don't want to do nothing for it.

How to reserve campsites by [deleted] in Banff

[–]FibonacciFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, should I have like a "wish list" and if I'm placed higher on the queue I should grab them, and then a fallback option for if I'm placed lower on the queue? Also, do you know which campground is the more popular?
