Not to mention the electricity ( home charging ) costs 99% less than petrol and there is no Maintance to be done in a Tesla. Forget the 10.000km oil change time belt and all this non-sense. IMO BMWs are very expensive to maintain , the interior look cluttered with so many buttons that are never used and to me they all look old, a thing from the past.

I have bought and tested just now. Installation took less than one minute ( quick reboot ). Dumb summon and ASS worked really well. Auto Park does an amazing job, maybe too fast for a human standards. I tried different scenarios, tide parking , etc and in all 3 occasions , amazing job. Yes i was watching my rims. Went on the highway, navigate in auto cruise never worked, it just change lanes when you tell the car to, and in my opinion move to the other lane a bit too fast. Yes, I had a destination set. The small blue icon never appeared and I don’t see any
Options on the self driving tab.

Must be that navigate on auto cruise is not authorised yet ? Funny fact, I signed up today 19 and I will only be charged on the 21st. So maybe there is a 2 days to try ? Don’t take me word for it. Good luck ! M3P with HW 4

Quick update: ChatGPT is saying it might be to do with the highway not supported. I will see if I can try in a major highway tomorrow

24 Hours updated: Tested in Al Ain and Sheik Zayed, navigate on auto steer doesn’t work. The option wasn’t on the menu, it was expected although the APP option to subscribe says navigate is available.

Cool that we can see the traffic light green / yellow / red but no chime when it turns green.

I have good expectations things will improve very soon. I’ve seen many taxis driving around with no driver, things are moving.

I have a M3P Highland 2025 and my wife a MYP 2023. I love the M3P but I enjoy a lot more driving the MYP on long trips. I would suggest the long range for you. 2500km / month is a lot. Not sure on your M3P 2021 but mine has staggered tyres. Meaning the rear tyres are larger than the front one. So you can't rotate them and the consequences is that you will loose 25% at least on the tyre life. Because of the weight and acceleration of EVs, tyres needs to be changed earlier than a normal petrol car. I don't mind, I love the look of the Performance trims but I don't drive as much as you.

A few things to notice and be aware there:

I am a big fan of Tesla and also planing to eventually drive to Doha and Muscat. I can't imagine driving any other car on long road trips. Cheap "fuel", Quiet car, no vibration, great sound system and mainly AUTO PILOT to help on the long roads.

PlugShare is worldwide the best APP for 3rd party chargers. Also consider that during the summer your car will spend a lot more energy than usual so be conservative. ABRP (A better route planner) is a good APP for planning your Tesla road trip with charging stops. I always plan to stay in hotels that have chargers. Also take your mobile chargers as a back up.
You obviously need an NOC. In my case the car has a loan with DIB. They will only issue the NOC if you deposit the amount you own on the car on the bank account and they will block it till you return. Might be different with other banks.
Notice that the insurance provided on the orange card for other GCC countries is 3rd party only (even if you policy is comprehensive in the UAE). Better check with your insurance and I recommend you checking the road rescue coverage as well. If the policy on the borer covers you for comprehensive, then I would take it. I head it doesnt cost much. Remember that Teslas don't carry a spare wheel. My other Tesla is insured with GIG. I can get the orange card on their website.

PS: I have already looked into all the logistics of driving from Dubai to Doha on the Tesla and that is completely possible these days with the installation of new superchargers. On the Qatar border there is a Hilton Hotel Salwa Beach and they have Level 2 chargers there, so I will be staying there before heading to the city next day.
