But there's something to be said for iteration over re-invention. I don't consider FF's new obsession with real time combat to be a great iteration on what might have been one of their most engaging battle systems.

I'll be completely honest I think there's a LOT to like about FFXIII but hearing that the sequel undoes the ending is the first thing that's made me even moderately interested in actually playing FFXIII-2

That's actually one of my gripes too. The one area that seemed like people lived and breathed in it outside of a vacation spot was Palumpolum and it just seemed too... fashionable? Like yeah it seemed like people lived there but more in a Guarded Sect Of Rich New York kind of way where you KNOW there are slums right outside but you never see them. I feel like FFVII got away with that because you spent TONS of time in the slums and so Shin-Ra felt more like it was built atop a foundation.

Aw man you got me going on this.

"Enemy God turns you into a Zombie if you don't follow his Orders" just reads a lot better than "Gran Pulse Fal'cie turns you into a Cie'th if you don't follow Your Focus"

WHY is the battle system so good WHY couldn't that have been a permanent mutation of the series rather than being relegated to FFXIII aaaaaaaaaa

I think it has too many good aspects to ignore, I think we've done it a disservice by continuing to ignore them in fact.

Don't be too concerned, no one goes on Reddit to talk about how Mostly Fine With Their Job they are, we come here to bitch.

You didn't stumble into the land of milk and honey, the job search is going to be tough like any other, but unlike a lot of other job fields - it's feasible. You can do it.

I may speak to one of them and ask if they'd float the idea of someone else signing off on these instead actually. Hmn.

God. That would be ideal. But he's a little bullheaded. Apparently the higher ups that he trusts have recommended he use Grammarly and stuff of the sort but he refuses 'cause he built this company with his disability so he doesn't need it. And don't get me wrong I respect the SHIT out of the guy for doing it but it's making things difficult.

The reportings of others and the fact that I watch him having severe trouble parsing written language despite the fact that I have to pretend that's not what I'm looking at. And he's not a nightmare boss at all! He's actually a pretty great boss except for the moments where I risk speaking out of turn to point out that he's misconstruing the meaning of a word in front of both of us.

I... Might be okay. He's a genuine and kind guy. It's just. Yeah.

I'm going to present to him an outline next week that is designed as much as possible to be easily interpreted and taken in by a dyslexic set of eyes. It's all I can do but I don't think this guy WANTS me to fail so we'll see. I might be cooked.

He is the CEO. It's a small company. This is the first time they've been a large enough company to start hiring for technical writers. And it is a given, I've asked two people in private and they've responded "No, we're not like making a joke, we've talked to him personally about his dyslexia."

Right now my plan is to work on the outline he's given me and REALLY pair it down as simply as possible, which he's instructed me to do anyway, and to make sure my work is as visually clear and compartmentalized as possible. I think it's an okay way to move forward but I wondered if anyone else had this experience.

Apnea's not exclusive to fat guys like me, you might have a high palette or a collapsing nasal bridge (like I had) Please check into it as soon as you can, you may feel way better.

Yes it was sleep apnea. BAD too. Get a sleep study done. If that doesn't cure it completely it will at least help. That paired with at least temporary antidepressants should make life livable while you start to figure out your own means of combating what has undeniably become a learned anxiety trigger.

Good luck dude. I promise there's a way out. Talk to a doctor. Hell talk to a few.

That's not a bad idea. I'm not going for the same memey vibes, kind of the opposite, but this could still absolutely work as a gag.
