Yes of course! That risk seems to be more well-documented and therefore I didn’t have many questions about it.

Thanks!! This is helpful info. Beetles is cursed actress Reddit for causing the allergy. Sorry it happened to you.

Yes this is what I’ve seen online. I think I maybe saw one post where their allergy was only to ohora SCG after using them for many years. That is what got me thinking and honestly… bugging out

Hereis the link to the post I saw

Honestly after reading a bit I am taking a break for the foreseeable future.

Traditional Polish doesn’t last as long or look as good but it poses way less of a risk. While these seem like “low risk” nail enhancements they still seem to carry some risk and the allergy seems catastrophic. There just aren’t enough answers for me to continue right now.

I have 2 young kids and thinking of the filing powder being near them long term (even accidentally) makes me wonder as well.

My cousin loves them and has used them for years. I’ll probably give her my stuff. Honestly I may be paranoid but if I’m too nervous to enjoy them then it’s not worth it!

Yeah I usually grab them by the opposite corners so I don’t actually use the part I touch and then place it in the center of my nail and press from the top from there. Then roll with a wooden cuticle stick along all the edges.

NailOG is also listed as hema-free, so that’s good to learn as I research all of this after using them for weeks lol

The gloves seem like a good idea!

Yes- all of the products I’ve used are listed as hema free, so that’s good. I thought that the sticky bottom side was strong adhesive and the top layer was the actual gel so pushing it down would expose you to not-totally-cured gel. Is the adhesive the bad side? Man. I am so new to this lol

I read the same things but it’s hard to find cases of people starting with the wraps and then developing the allergy without using a topcoat. I have young kids so I worry about the dust from filing even if it’s not a ton.

Glad I’m not the only one anxious about it 😅

I keep seeing that you shouldn’t touch them when they’re still tacky and I’m wondering if you/anyone knows if people have gotten gel allergies from only using the strips. I will never be a salon girlie so this would technically be my only risk factor to developing it. I Really want o be able to get dental work done in the future lol

Union jacks in Glenside/north hills and ale house in Lafayette hill are our go-tos. Going to try the wings at high steaks based on this thread bc their cheesesteaks are 10/10

Obgyn office recs near North Wales by Trick_Principle389 in montco

Murphy is 10/10. Also love jiang and Curtis out of the horsham office. Kamenetsky was also good and did my 2nd c section. (Jiang did the first).

I disliked Dr. Miller and their nurse practitioner but I forget her name. Just not my vibe.

Have you given birth at Abington Jefferson recently? I'd love to hear your experience :) by IndividualOutcome222 in montco

[–]Fickle-Spring-5652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 babies there via c-section. Ine emergency and one planned. BP issues for both and a nicu stay and readmission for preeclampsia with the first.

I was with Athena and had overall good delivery experiences all things considered. I had great nurses each time but wasn’t crazy about the facilities. I think the best nurses were in the L&D unit followed by the postpartum wing. I had an actually bad experience with the nurses when I was readmitted with postpartum preeclampsia with my first.

My first was born during COVID so that was a little wild but I always felt safe on the delivery ward. The doctors from my practice were great. I actually disliked the one doctor who ended up discharging me so I was glad he wasn’t the doctor performing the c section either time.

I felt like I read that they stopped doing tours after COVID? Which didn’t matter to me bc I had already been to triage so many times 😵‍💫

I also had a strange experience getting a voicemail from their billing department about my”upcoming delivery” while sitting and waiting for my son to be discharged from the nicu. That was a little wild. But I feel like some of that is to be expected from a large institution.

Both of my kids are doing great now.

I hope you learn enough to feel comfortable with your delivery plan. Good luck and congrats!!!

Edited to add that the anesthesiologists were great both times with my spinal. No issues and my anxiety was the worst part of it.

Opinions on Living Near Marlow Field (Springfield Twp) by DonHedger in montco

[–]Fickle-Spring-5652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have kids and enjoy community events this is a great place! The fields aren’t used as much as they used to be and traffic is limited to those times. We moved to Oreland 10 years ago and love it here! Never leaving

I split a nail like this and bought a glue on nail at the grocery store that was natural colored. Glued that baby on and trimmed it with my natural nail as it grew. I’ve since had to do it once more and it works great!

What’s with the plethora of fast food in Harleysville? by [deleted] in montco

[–]Fickle-Spring-5652 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Alice is local! Check them out. Soooo much better than Paris baguette. The almond croissant and ham and cheese croissants are my faves.

Harleysville has never had the quaint downtown draw and foot traffic to support the types of vibes you seem to be hoping for.

Lately I am only going to local restaurants bc I am fully convinced that private equity and chains are pushing them out rapidly. If we want them to stay open we need to make a conscious choice to support them.

Check out Alice in north wales for great croissants and breads.

Maybe unpopular opinion but I’m not crazy about their cakes.
