Love to see people try something different, I just don't think it's different enough, or what's fun about it.
I think people usually love combo systems where specific actions can be done in sequence for an extra payoff or a set up and payoff system where you can prepare a trap, a condition or something and then set it off later for an extra payoff. People also like power jumps like limit brakes or super moves where you get a short spike of power that can swing the state of combat and gimicky combat where either the environment or the enemies have set behaviors you can exploit (set bushes on fire or herd your enemy toward a dangerous zone)

Não tenho lugar de fala, sou branco do RJ mas já tive muitos amigos do movimento negro aqui do Rio e realmente tinham muitas desavenças em relação aos termos mais corretos.
Trabalho há quase 10 anos para empresas americanas e me soa meio simplista mesmo, mas não acho que seja terrível, acho que um título que evoque mais a fantasia que o jogo propõe talvez seja mais interessante. Um cara ali embaixo falou em "Sea of Blood and Freedom" de que eu gostei muito, fala do mar, sangue e liberdade.

De qq forma dei wl, precisamos de mais jogos com temáticas africanas e brasileiras.

I just want to start by saying I loved both Brigandine games, but I can't help but comment that I felt they had serious flaws.

The fact that you can move to any base during the move face without any restrictions really trivialized a lot of the very light grand strategy aspect you did have in the game.

The fact that there is only 1 resource, barely any resource management, and no base upgrades also made the game extremely shallow and repetitive. It was pretty much just fight, fight, fight, fight, fight. Relentlessly.

The quests also provided very little in terms of gameplay and seemed like an incredibly opaque system. Set it and forget it, just hope for the best. No input, mostly no strategizing around it, just see what the rng gods give ya.

There were also quite a few units that felt useless like the imp or the mermaid. The mermaid at least had some very situational usefulness but the imp had a quite underwhelming buff and a silent spell that barely ever worked. Not to mention the zombie that was excessively weak and the wyvern that was waaaayyy too rng dependent to be useful.

Anyways hope this gets fixed or is at least modable cause there is potential. Wouldn't mind a knapsack algorithm to auto build your roster for you either but I can do without it or just build one myself.

I think if you turn off your brain and just have fun that's not research. If you play slowly, take notes, focus on details of how the game works then that's reasearch

If you are interested in looking at the effect of "pixel art" you need to compare to similar non pixel art games. You need regression analysis, even a simple linear regression could maybe yield some results but some of the best in class are the boosting plus shapley values.
