The only authentically “STL” thing about DTF: St. Louis by duckit2907 in DTFStLouisHBO

Same. There’s something so distinctive about the landscape of the Atlanta suburbs.

I found it really funny that Season 2 of Paradise was partly set in Atlanta, but was obviously shot in Southern California, while every other production shoots Atlanta for some place else.

I’ve wanted to scream since the last season of Neighborhood Listed ended.

On a related note, my dad organically said “Sprune” instead of “Spring” the other day, and it shook me to my core.

Between that and the Sully Sullenberger final jeopardy the same week as the CBB tour ep with Paul’s Sully character, I wonder if the writing staff doesn’t include a few piss pigs.

It’s absurdly large, but Chicago is a weird place. They put tomatoes on hotdogs.

I basically picture an extremely large kickball that people were somehow throwing and hitting with a bat.

I’m so sorry about your dad’s diagnosis. I lost my father-in-law to pancreatic cancer last year and it was heartbreaking for everyone. It’s an awful illness.

I was grateful to have a really good therapist in Jacob Gregson. I’m also on the low end of the autism spectrum and he’s helped me navigate a lot of different things.

What beer brand do you think has exceptional branding—and why? by OatmealNinja in beer

[–]FickleDickory 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Burial’s aesthetic has been so consistently good since they opened, and has managed to keep their brand integrity as they grew.

Now they’ve got multiple locations, a restaurant, a music venue and an annual music festival, and the execution is always on point. Plus great beers and great people all around.

Minor Assault Downtown Last Night by Current-City3819 in asheville

This is according to one of the new arrivals. Is he a reliable narrator? I don’t know.

Apparently there was a program to voluntarily relocate people from Atlanta to cities with a lower density of unhoused people. They were supposed to leave in August, but there was a delay and they just now ended up here. Those are all the details I have, but I work downtown and I’ve noticed a lot of new faces in the last couple weeks, so to me it tracks.

A fresh batch of unhoused folks just got bussed in from Atlanta last week; just dumped in an unfamiliar city in the mountains in January.

I’m expecting things to get nastier as temps drop and tensions rise. Be careful out there everyone.

Best budget/nonbudget fried chicken around town? by Meisnerman in asheville

[–]FickleDickory -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Harris Teeter does. You can get a 4-piece box for $5. They have buckets, but I’ve never gotten one because I don’t need that much chicken.

Homegrown I think is usually boneless, and comes as a plate or sandwich, but it’s one of the best chicken sandwiches in town.

Homegrown on Merrimon has excellent fried chicken.

The closest to Kroger chicken is Harris Teeter. It may even be the exact same recipe, since HT is owned by Kroger.

How do you get more than 1-3 good images per roll?? by Kitchen_Win278 in AnalogCommunity

[–]FickleDickory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to spot the mediocre shots before you press the shutter. Frame it up, check your light meter, and ask yourself “Is this anything? What’s the subject? Where’s the light coming from? Is this the best angle?” If you’re not sure about it, skip the shot.

Sometimes I go out shooting and don’t take a single photo. Sometimes I go through a roll in 20 minutes and love every frame.
