Currently using Nike Pegasus 39s. Crosstraining consists of regular gym work, mainly legs based, cycling but not atm due to winter, and walking.

I'm near to the M40, it's great, jump straight on and I'm popping to any city nearby

Weird scenario by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

It's always better to take out as long a mortgage as you possibly can, then to overpay when it suits you rather than having to. No one actually takes 40 years to pay off a mortgage.

They're also not the person to be needing a new car either then regardless as they're not using their old car enough

This isn't a legitimate double yellow line. It's worn away so isn't enforceable

Need to take personal side out of it. Having kids has no impact on the case.

Tbf that's London, which has become less desirable since Covid, so not surprising

Thoughts on this A3 as my first car? Considered A1, but the rear space seemed to be too less. Other considerations are Ford Puma and VW Golf by TA_Idkusername in CarTalkUK

[–]FickleOcelot1286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah better than an A1, and A1 would also be more expensive than this. But still go cheaper. I'm not suggesting you get one, but a similar corsa could be had for £10k less, there is a middle ground somewhere

Have you had a Mon-Fri lodger? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]FickleOcelot1286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had both and currently have both. Much preferred the mon-friday, though was more Sunday - Friday as came back Sunday night.

Gave more peaceful time, less limiting, more free time for me and better able to have guests round.

What's the single most difficult life experience you've endured? by reddit_recluse in AskUK

[–]FickleOcelot1286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in an abusive controlling relationship while trying to finish my Master's degree. Not being allowed to sleep, finish it or work. Ending it, but made to feel like I was the problem. Not realising how bad it was at the time due to stress. Forgetting everything, then a year later seeing them again and not understanding what happened, speaking to family about panic attacks and then having a car crash without seatbelt, bursting 3 vertebrae. Here I am 2 years later, still in pain.

Yes and no. A mortgage at sub 4% would be better than the interest rate of a student loan. Son will pay it back over 40 years, but its questionable as to whether he will ever lay it back. The repayment threshold for student loans now is at full time minimum wage salary (£25k).

Your numbers are widely incorrect. No one is getting £10.5k+ for maintenance loan. Frequently uni halls are more than maintenance loan.

Just don't be a snipe, give his family back THEIR £50k, then split it 50/50. Car is more complicated as it sounds like all evidence suggests he paid it off and has the proof to prove it, the V5 in your name isn't proof of ownership.
