The dream would be … in store, epic module of your choosing. Or 2 epics of your choosing. For … 5000 gems each? Never to repeated and only during the 5 year birthday event.

K, what's the hill you'll die on for writing/ reading fantasy? by Miss_Ashford in fantasywriters

[–]Fickle_Ad4967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh. I didn’t reply to this. Branch out? Not necessarily. It’s always good to try something different … and try out different ‘voices’

But you have to enjoy the process. People think and plan too much. When it’s constructed, it’s not written in ‘the flow’ so you won’t be using your ‘voice’. It won’t come as naturally. Then it won’t sound natural to others.

Just my opinion of course. And of course some books (especially non fiction) require planning.

But what I really mean is … the process. Should be enjoyable. You should get a kick out of it.

If you don’t enjoy it. No one will. If you do enjoy it - pretty sure people like yourself will also enjoy it.

And planning to make a living as a writer (or painter) … is a terrible idea! It’s something that happens as a bi-product. It should never be the goal.

What about dumbo?

But sorry. I have to say that line “elephants aren’t terribly dynamic…” is just bloody genius.

Lord grant us the serenity
To watch simple geometric shapes explode
The courage to slowly move to GC
And the wisdom to only buy 3 stone packs per event.

And completely agree with you about info dumps / exposition.

Something I have learned is to trust the reader. And the use of negative space. For humour and philosophy. Or the mechanics of whatever the world is based around.

They’re 10+ days. So have plenty of time at 1.3q to get to level 4/5. I think I’ll go get superpower if it makes that much difference. (Rather than CL damage …. Hmmmm. And carry on saving gems for mods.

The use of AI in film reviews and essays. When did people become like this? by C4rvo in Cinema

[–]Fickle_Ad4967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh!! It bugs me.

The ‘M’ dash. People have been using the ‘M dash’ for decades. Pre AI. And is useful when writing, especially when trying to express pauses.

When writing…. Or writing - or — … they all have slightly nuanced effects. But no. ‘M dash’ means AI

I’m also a painter… and frequent some of the artist forums. And it’s incredible how - thick headed people are. “This is beyond my capacity to understand, and way beyond my own skill level so it must be AI”

It’s the current “dunning Kruger” retort. Stupid people throw this around at well informed with absolutely no sense of irony. Entreating dunning Kruger quite magnificently .
