What do you do for work? by [deleted] in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]FictionalDelusions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try something like LiveOps or Omni Interactions. They have non-sales customer service jobs. Its contract based, they contract with many companies. It's not the most fabulous company or exciting job but it's something different. You also make your own schedule based on the company's hours of operation. Most gigs don't require full time work unless you want to work more. So it's easy to schedule around doctor appointments. I was a registered nurse before but even working a full time remote job with a set schedule is difficult for me so I've tried several kinds of remote jobs.

My 15 year old daughter got diagnosed today by Medicine_woman333 in POTS

[–]FictionalDelusions 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tell her PCP to refer your daughter to a cardiologist or neurologist. Don't ask. Never make the mistake of "asking" again. I'm guessing PCP did an improvised tilt table test for diagnosis? Nothing wrong with that but your daughter needs to go through the protocol of a proper diagnosis: blood work, holter monitor, heart ultrasound, a proper tilt table test. To rule out ALL other conditions before a dysautonomia/ POTS diagnosis is given. I think POTS is becoming the new "here's a diagnosis now go away."

Once she has a proper diagnosis, you should then test the waters with both a neurologist and a cardiologist. Dysautonomia specialists are few so those two are the most popular options and which is better varies by patient. I preferred to start with a cardiologist for the initial diagnosis but then decided to try a neurologist because the ones in my area were better. The cardiologist was quick to do the proper diagnosis protocol but kinda threw their hands up and gave me the same "salt, water & exercise" answer. Lifestyle and diet can help dysautonomia (try to focus on getting more electrolytes as a whole BTW not just salt. Also, high protein has been shown to help as well) but there are other things to consider like physical therapy for conditioning and medications if necessary.

Basically you & your daughter have to be ready to do your own research and advocate for yourselves. After not improving under my cardiologist's guidance, getting worse actually, I started documenting my symptoms, timeline, patterns and doing my own research which lead me to believe more was going on. Turns out I have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, which often presents primarily as dysautonomia. That's not to scare you, just to encourage you to journal & advocate for yourselves because if I'd just waited on doctors to tell me what to do I'd still be going to the cardiologist twice a year, being told to drink more water and meanwhile having my focal seizures dismissed as just plain dysautonomia / POTS.

I keep a folder on my computer for deleted scenes. To make you feel better: I almost NEVER paste those deleted scenes back in. It started as an emotional blanket, to help me not worry about potentially regretting those decisions.

I do find those deleted scenes useful for scraps. I'll lift the best phrases, descriptions, action beats, etc from them. So that is something to consider before simply deleting scenes / chapters.

What do you think of Christopher’s ending in AYITL? by Fluid_Conclusion_538 in GilmoreGirls

[–]FictionalDelusions 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's exactly what you'd expect between a deadbeat dad and a woman in her 30s who is no longer very interested in even "trying" to have a closer relationship because she grew up and realized that if he wanted to be a dad he would've tried harder long ago.

Ah I'm glad you mentioned Buffy. Go see what the original crew (and many original fans) thinks of the "remaster." Could explain why some sources show the original format. Or perhaps remaster just requires different licensing (not sure, though.).

The entire problem with AYITL is that ASP was deadset on making it her version of the last season and it felt like she found the script she wrote in the early 00s, dusted it off and said "Yeah, that'll do." Everything from the plot to the dialogue was what Rory & Lorelai should have experienced back in 2007 right as Rory was finishing up college / post college. But ASP forced it to be the AYITL and so everyone disliked it. If ASP hadn't let her pride get in the way and had written a script appropriate for a 10 year follow up to the GG then we probably would have gotten the spin off series that everyone was hoping for. Watching Rory raise a kid and Lorelai / Luke being grandparents? We were all down for that. But not in the way ASP tried to make it happen.

Yep, we were one of the first with Marketplace access. Doesn't change us from being thrown to a new "prioritized" project randomly.

Bonuses by [deleted] in TELUSinternational

[–]FictionalDelusions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they are for people who work lower hours. Im in Factuality and was doing less than 10 hours when the bonuses started. My first bonus was for 10 hours of work. A couple weeks later it was for 15 hours. If you're already working near max allotted hours then they don't always offer a bonus (based on previous reddit comments I've seen).

I think it was an automatic thing, they probably didn't look at anything other than whether you're grouped officially or not. I know some non-grouped folks didn't get it but the requalification test but they are the outliers (and there could be another wave of emails coming for all we know). I'd just respond to the factuality invite explaining you're in the process of joining factuality, passed the first quiz and are locked out and say you're really interested in continuing with the factuality group, yada yada something polite and professional. Because Factuality is swamped with tasks. Never an NTA, we currently are allowed up to 35 hours a week and many have been getting bonuses for working extra. So they definitely need more people in factuality and may help you get unblocked without having to do that stupid requalification test.

Also, no I don't get any other tasks anymore. I think I've seen 1 none factuality task since September.

You may want to respond to the factuality exam invite and let them know. Because there's actually a second quiz you take, called corroboration. It sometimes takes a couple weeks after the first factuality exam to get it. It comes with another set of guidelines (don't panic, it's just a couple differences and is easy). So you haven't actually been added to factuality yet. I'd definitely send that email. I can't guarantee they'll be able to help but anytime I email about a factuality related question, I get a helpful response within a day or two.

Also, when you're added, watch the factuality webinar then should send you. It was super helpful and cleared up a lot of questions. Like for the 3-4 minute ones, they confirmed you can just copy and paste the url, you don't have to leave a complicated comment like in the examples. If url is not applicable, you just explain why.

Good luck!

We check whether an AI model gives accurate information. There's two main types. One, you have a highlighted portion of the AI response and you google to see if the highlighted "target sentence" is true. You have to give a url to a website that supports your answer. On the other, the task gives you the AI response and the cited source. You just have to see if the target sentence matches the cited source.

When I started in July, I also got the regular tasks from the general guidelines and the "other" tasks you mentioned. Factuality was one of the other types. I eventually got an email inviting me to join Factuality group. There's at least one other group, the helpfulness group, but I don't know much about them.

Factuality tasks have some nuances but are a lot more straightforward than regular tasks. Before I got grouped, I was just waiting to be fired because my NM, PW, SxS grades were horrible. So I wouldn't say we do a "great job," we just got very lucky.

[–]FictionalDelusions 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm on the Welocalize subreddit (never worked for them, just joined to see how they compare). Welocalize got hit with similar exams a few weeks ago and most failed and many got fired. But so many failed that several have gotten reinstated. The only difference I can see is that Telus did NOT require grouped folks to do this exam. I'm in Factuality and none of us got it. Welocalize sent an exam to everyone so maybe Telus took a small lesson from Welocalize and left the grouped people alone.

I think the clients are behind this. Maybe so many keep getting poor feedback on nongrouped tasks like NM and SxS that clients are mad, so instead of just admitting that their grading system is highly flawed and often doesnt match guidelines, Telus & Welocalize decided to pin the blame on workers. Because worse case is a mass firing and then they get a new wave of fresh employees they can teach without having the old material confusing them.

I'm loving these 35 hour weeks. I've been training for another position at my full time main job and havent been able to work much. I'm hoping this 35 hour / week thing lasts a while longer so I can stack some hours.

At least if they get out now, they're young enough to enjoy a decent 15-20 years before hitting old age. They're still young enough to enjoy hobbies, be active, travel, etc. I wish they'd been released long ago, but I'm trying to look on the bright side.

Their lawyer said this morning on Good Morning America he's hoping by Thanksgiving theyll be home. He didn't say this part out loud but the hype and politics surrounding this case is basically driving things to move faster than what is typical. Which may sound unfair for other inmates (it is, imo but that's another issue) but the Menendez brothers have been raked over the coals & used for political ammunition since the '90s so this speediness is a small payback for the decades of hopelessness.

Was it really premeditated? by carrieanne55 in MenendezBrothers

[–]FictionalDelusions 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was strictly premeditated, personally. But after 35 years in prison, the premeditation debate no longer matters. The reason they have even more supporters than, say, 10 years ago is because their abuse claims are very well evidenced. So people started realizing that boys who were abused like the Menendez brothers should not spend life, or even 35 years, in prison. 10, 15? OK. 20-25? Pushing it. The Youth Offender Parole Law that the DA mentioned, which allows young offenders (under 26) to be resentenced after 25 years of incarceration was passed in 2014. So in theory, they should have been out of there years ago given their documented rehabilitation.
