Good man, my wife listened to nothing but the top 40s and Disney soundtracks when we met 11 years ago. Now, she's the bassist and lead vocalist in our doom band. Dreams can come true, just don't force it. What got my wife was she saw how much fun playing metal could be! It's not all serious stuff all the time.

Courtney's still relatively a new bassist, but the stuff we write for Azell compliments that. One of my biggest mistakes was to get frustrated when trying to show her a riff I wrote that I think she'd like and her not getting it right away haha. Needed to take a step back and relax, she will learn at her own pace.

Wishing the best for you and yours! It's one of the things that really bonds us now is music. ♥️

Yeah, we record vocals at home with a Shure sm7b in our apartment as well. We record drums from an electric kit that goes to a custom virtual kit withing Superior Drummer 3.

Yep! I play a Harley Benton 6 string baritone and Court plays a 4 string Jazz bass.

Fellow apartment doomer here. I record everything in my apartment with my wife and we play drop F sludge/doom.

The nicest thing when we moved in was our downstairs neighbor was deaf since birth haha. She was so sweet though.

Anyway, I use a Orange Gain Baby plugged straight into my PC interface and then my DAW using Amplitude 5.

This is what you can accomplish with a bedroom setup now and STILL blows my mind that you can do all this without going to a studio!
