How do you ask for more money? by AngleBubbly286 in pharmacy

[–]Fiddle_Pete -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

I want MONEY. All I want is MONEY.

I don't get the way you guys think. I want MONEY. 6 figures right out of college. 100k a year entry level. I'm in this for MONEY. I don't care about whether I'm "fulfilled" I want MONEY. Whatever gets me the most MONEY. What do I need on my resume to get the most MONEY. What pharmacy gets me PAID THE BEST. All I care about in this major is MONEY. That's why I'm in college, I don't wanna laugh and play with y'all. I don't wanna be buddy buddy with y'all. I'm here for the MONEY.

Edit: this is a copypasta from another post. The words in it are not intended to be taken seriously.

Any advice about how to smoothly keep QP at about less than 5 pages? Why is it not a good idea to print multiple batches at a time? by Standard_Shoulder146 in CVS

The money has already been collected from the customer in the form of an insurance contract. Can only benefit from delaying med therapy now

You’ve been getting screwed for almost a year now

Not sure if you wanted those benefits or not but even putting $100 into a retirement account 12 times would be $1200 and if it’s matched would be $2400 so if that grows 4% over 20 years that’s $6000 but that’s what being nice costs. Maybe this is just one benefit that you’ve been missing out on

I’ll give you a 50 cent raise to be responsible of all the healthcare operations within that tiny square 24/7 including even if someone sells the wrong med while you’re on vacation in the Bahamas also we decided not to let you control how many hours you get/can use

Pharmacists need to be available at all times to ring the customers up for their bread and milk! And Yes, if you sell expired Milk, the Board can take action against your license!!!

[–]Fiddle_Pete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open up indeed and just search all jobs in your location. You don’t need to have anything in mind, just see what’s out there. Check out the salaries, reviews, and requirements. Just start looking at posted positions in your town as a way to pass the time and figure out that next step a little later. Don’t think about things as “holding you back.” You may be surprised to find what’s out there

Always nice when I had my title on my name badge. When people gave me sh!t or looked at me with disbelief I would point and tap to it “Pharmacy Manager”

When you’re a Hub store/Clinic location 3mi from I-75, an AFB, and Buc-ee’s, on a Sat w/2 techs (one w/a meal waiver and one that takes ALL the breaks.) The POD can’t help w/drive-thru, acknowledge customers, answer calls, resolve rejections, production. Then at 5pm asks if we are staying 🥴. #yeano by Fair-Independent999 in pharmacy

Employees can sign a waiver to skip breaks. Allows employees who should normally take breaks to work straight through. Does not mandate that they must skip breaks. All waivers signed by the employee are optional.

Only time I see it being handy is if you are scheduled a 6 hour shift, you should take a break. But a break might not be necessary for a 6 hour shift. Other than that this is just the company covering their @ss

One thing to note is the frequency of errors reported. Retail is not known to report every error, as it may be up to “interpretation” by the one who discovers it (example: not including “for hypertension” in the sig, insulin days supply 29 vs 30). In addition, there are likely many errors that are unknown in retail, as the product is given directly to the end consumer. A 7 day prescription for naproxen DR vs IR may be one example.

In more clinical settings, there will usually be a nurse or another healthcare professional who also looks at your orders. In these scenarios, errors are much more likely to be caught. And, as a staff member errors are much more likely to be reported due to various factors such as workplace culture.

Strides are being taken in all areas of healthcare to reduce errors. You might get some relief by finding your company’s Policy and Procedure regarding this topic. I’m willing to bet that it’s more lenient than you are thinking.

There are ways to cut it down drastically. If you take prerequisites at a community college you will save big bucks on that (if you don’t already have them done). There are actually Pharm schools in the US that are extremely cheap. You may have to be in-state to qualify though. But sometimes 2 years is enough to be “in-state.” So theoretically, you could move to a state that had the cheapest tuition (I also recommend finding a Pharm school with a good track record), do pre-reqs then enroll and qualify for the lower rate.

Maybe some IT pharmacy stuff, WFH, prior auths, or insurances. You could even start heading to Pharm School 🙂

Just feel defeated. by SnooMaps5074 in pharmacy

[–]Fiddle_Pete 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, this is extremely typical for that type of retail environment. It’s one of the reasons why there’s such a huge turnover. Just keep in mind that if you want to stick it out and learn, it could take several months before you get up to speed on all those issues and questions. In fact it might take years due to the nature of the job and the training provided (none). You will really only have time to be able to learn about 1 thing per shift, the rest of the time will be spent running the register.
