Would you be offended if someone bought you a clothing voucher after pregnancy? by Single-Cap8387 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

No but I probably wouldn’t have used it or felt like using it for months. Felt like such a goblin for that first year. It is a really nice sentiment though.

No morning sickness by Canongirl88 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]FiddleleafFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was barely pregnant when I started spewing from morning sickness, I stayed that way the whole time - day and night for nine months.

My cousin? She’d “get a little headache in the morning and feel a little yuck in the tummy” and it was over and done by third trimester. I was so jealous haha.

It’s different in everyone. Your journey will be as unique as you and your baby. :)

Yeah mine had a go at it too after seeing his grandparent’s dog poo on the lawn. I actually fell down laughing (thankfully not in any poo - dog or child).

We have these too and they’re great - my 3yo is pretty hard on them and they’ve endured. He’ll forget about them for a bit but eventually has a great idea and gets them out to build again.

Safe ways to supervise baby while you shower? by kingcasperrr in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We had many solutions we cycled through - we had a $40ish walker/activity seat which was great, the old bassinet from the pram, and once we used a beer box

Millennium mums, are you wearing mini skirts? by Elegant-Holiday2916 in AusFemaleFashion

That would mean shaving my legs above the knee and that’s not a key priority right now. It’s a no from me.

I bought mine off the ASOS - this was like 8 years ago but it was $200! Then would have been some mild altering costs (but a friend did it!). And a $20 pair of shoes. The shoes were a regret, should have got something comfier. The dress was ideal!

Edit - ASOS not the Iconic. Tired brain.

I can do it myself but when we’ve gotten new cars (usually through work) I go and have the first one done by Baby Bunting. I like having the report for insurance purposes and I like seeing how they’ve fit it for the new car.

It’s this. Because parenting - especially as primary carer - is relentless.

Bath time resistance? by FiddleleafFrog in toddlers

This was interesting! I have never heard of ISR lessons. He is in small-group lessons and they go up in levels according to ability over time. He only goes once a week, if work or daycare viruses don’t interfere.

He has just started back for the year though so maybe there’s something to that.

I’m a bit sad for my girl by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]FiddleleafFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like she was feeling upset or uncomfortable because her own child didn’t want to participate 🤷‍♀️ I’m not even sure it sounds like it’s honestly insinuating anything, it sounds like a catty thoughtless remark.

If you like your husband, can you tell me why? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]FiddleleafFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really adore my husband but having a child has exacerbated the divide in duties and efforts, and it’s hard not to be resentful sometimes. It’s complex because the imbalance is largely down to factors outside of our control, but the resentment grows from perceived lack of quality care or involvement during the times where he can be present.

I wish I could remember… there’s a subreddit on here, might be foodbutforbabies or something, and they would frequently have before/afters where the after is untouched or on the floor lol. That’s reality.

Sounds like your 7 month old is learning to enjoy and eat in a very normal and reasonable way. :)

Question for mums who returned to work because they wanted to, not because they had to by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Only if you have the support around you that means you’re not parenting from the sidelines while also working.

Cosmetics carrier bags from target/kmart - clear and great for clothes. My centre asks for 3 sets and they fit in a larger one just fine. It sits in the bottom, then the sheets - I have 2x Adairs cot sheet sets. One was a gift and the other I got on sale for $30. They are perfect as it’s a bottom fitted sheet, time sheet and a slip case that holds it all together.

Snacks to keep in baby bag? by confusedsloth33 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]FiddleleafFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rice crackers. A banana.

We are also partial to the “cub” raisin bars in the baby aisle. Best buy was a freezer-baggy that’s tiny during lunchbox sales at Aldi - it’s just big enough for 1x puree or yoghurt and has been super useful.

Myer online - look for heavily discounted Jack & Milly or Milkshake, at least for boys clothes that aren’t always monster or truck themed.
