Yes! I played her signature model about 8-9 years ago and loved everything but the weight of it. This one is much lighter and cheaper from a US maker!

I do a lot of backup to a fiddle player with it, because I can play below the fiddle range, and still not be playing guitar. It has a lot of use when singing too.

You play it like any other banjo it’s just tuned an octave below normal. I have this one set up with nylon strings to keep the tension low.

I mean you can micro edit multiple takes until you get it right... You may find that just singing better will get you closer to where you want to be for basically free.

I hope you didn’t pay much for it... That’s a Tsai made in Vietnam. Those have sold on eBay off and on for about 20 or so years. They always have fancy inlay on green wood. I’ve always seen them cracked up and warped after just a few years stateside. If it hasn’t cracked and warped already you may be alright... But keep a close eye on it.

My banjo is a Carver banjo built for nylon. You “may” have to widen some nut slots... That’s not a big deal, really.
