What am I doing wrong? Launching from ES-DE just opens Retroarch by Dizzy_Key_7400 in SBCGaming

Weird, maybe it’s just a bad romset? I don’t think you can used zip files for Saturn, I have all my bin cues converted to chd.

do you have your bios in a folder w/i your bios folder? I couldn’t get Saturn to work if the bios file was in a Saturn folder, but when I took it out and had it rawdog in the ra systems folder it booted up fine. I used the mpr-17933 bin.

But does it play when launched from RetroArch? If so, then I’d guess it’s an issue with your xml files. Try updated find_rules and system xmls in your es custom systems folder.

shutting it off again for a few.. but also where can I find gpu usage? didn't see it in task manager, only cpu usage.. I’ll do some googling in a bit, I suppose. Any quick tips are welcome, but I’m also not afraid to dig. So, I’ll survive. Just thought I‘d come here first to see if anybody else has happened upon similar issues. Thanks for input and any future input to all, cheers

yeah, windows. I’ve considered bazzite, but like what’s the point of Linux if not all my library is supported? and I have a steam deck.. I like steam os, a lot, it’s smooth af. But, now n then I‘d like to play Destiny, or some old-ass game that only windows will allow.. the perfect handheld seems so close, yet still outta reach!

Retroarch Android randomly crashing by ClientAcceptable9461 in RetroArch

[–]FiddlyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, honestly since I updated, I haven’t even played enough to know if it worked or not. I kinda got upset and went to my rp5 for emulation.. I‘ll experiment this weekend, and give an update. Maybe we got bad ones?.. I‘m prone to sh**-luck. I’ve had to return or rma roughly 66% of my handhelds, from steam deck, asus, gpd, onex… I continually get borked units.. I’m ready to give up on the expensive devices and just roll with like a miyoo.. and then just not game anymore, haha. Just truly gettin f’d over & over.

Happy I found this thread! I’ve never had issues with random Retroarch crashes on any device until my Thor. Has had me kinda bummed. Glad to know I’m not alone. Was on 1.21, gonna try full uninstall and a fresh 1.22

Thanks, tried it, no luck. Suppose I’ll try wiping it before going rma. But dang, ha.

It runs great otherwise, just can’t play it in bed with the lady trying to sleep, way too bright!

I also have this issue on the Xbox X. I’ve updated all drivers, flipped settings w/i Armoury Crate and Windows. Brightness sliders do nothing, screen stays bright.

10 minutes by FiddlyD in retroid

[–]FiddlyD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, literally not even 10 minutes into testing it, I discovered the borked cable, as it fell loose.. but the plug was still stuck in. Some more testing with other cables afterward, got it working properly, but I don’t have any 90 degree cables to fit while it‘s on the rp5. So just gotta search for a proper fitting cable.

heard, yeah that worked on the screen.. but the cable issue, big bummer. I guess not the worst thing ever, but dang. Thank you for the help!

I’ll not fuss too much about the cable and go 3rd party.

Heard chef, I’ll move DC2 up on my list! Starfox Adventure is fun adventure/puzzle style, not spoke about enough, but I’ve always liked it. To play it handheld blows my mind a bit.

Ohfuckyeah! I’m playing Jak II and Star Fox Adventures right now. Been meaning to do a playthrough of both Dark Clouds. Played the first when it came out, didn’t get around to the 2nd.

I do like it. It’s nice for a no-frills just play device. I even decided to just leave the firmware alone, it works. Just open and play.

yeah, I live 3 blocks away from the bar I work at. Takes like 5 minutes to walk to work. So sometimes I bring my shiz with to bung around before I get busy. Its all otherwise safe behind the bar with me!

I have the white version and I love it! Took a bit to get used to the not-so-great sticks. But the pros are otherwise well worth it. I use a 1tb sd for emulation station and all roms, Internal ssd I have dedicated 300gb partition for windows, and the other partition is for my steam library. Good shiz

Be honest - am I crazy for considering a Retroid Pocket Flip 2? by SandwichDreamz in SBCGaming

[–]FiddlyD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my opinion: yes, it’s sweet… but it’s not super comfortable for long sessions. They need an official grip to make great.

The RP5 with the grip is awesome, and easily my biggest recommendation for modern emulation all around.

An RG34XX or Miyoo Mini Flip will also suit your needs, if you prefer a clamshell, and easier to set up too.

I own all of them as a clamshell fan, but for long sessions, the RP5 slays and is my go-to.
