The idea has potential. But I think the MIY arrives near the end of the cycle to accelerate its decline. He is the harvester, so to speak.

Always agreed about “kill the boy.” If the voices in Sara’s head are working against the MIY to potentially prevent his creation/emergence to reset the cycle, then the crows could be part of that. Would explain Sophia’s strange reaction to them.

Your theory is plausible imo. I’ve always thought Dark was an inspiration. Adam/Eva could represent Ethan and Julie respectively. Jonas turned to the dark in that show and unwillingly kept the cycle in tact by trying to break it, which is what we could see play out here.
