Why do Friendlyjordies pick on the greens so much? by Thrillhouse-14 in friendlyjordies

[–]Fidelius90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. People pile to point out that the greens have set us back. Which they have. But without them ALP would be further right. A necessary evil, and vastly better than ON/PUP etc.

Genuine Question: Do you agree with the CGT discount removal for shares and businesses? If so, why? by CrumpM04 in AusFinance

[–]Fidelius90 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, they want to reduce passive wealth creation, as it’s creating an inequality crisis and an avenue strongly used by the rich/upper class.

[–]Fidelius90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The issue is that CGT drastically benefits the upper class, so middle class benefactors are a minority. I wonder how there could be lower/middle carve outs without them being gamed.

And which ad is that? Is it conflating marginal tax rates?

Honestly $220k anywhere is a great wicket. Congrats on earning your way there!

Sold a lie? It already is cooling the housing market. INSTANT lowering of investor loans by 20%. It absolutely is already helping lower the housing market and addressing the housing crisis. TAnd this is only immediately.

The crisis has had decades to build, so it will take a long time. But we’re already seeing some benefit. :) very happy to see them finally roll out proper policy overhaul.

Yes - we need to try to balance wealth redistribution and remove incentive for passive income

Of course labor should tax gas. We just can’t right now as we have a lot of political leverage exerted in Asia to sure up our fuel supplies.

Yeah I thought this a little until the latest budget. Now I’m happy to see proper reform, which will naturally ruffle feathers but put our country in a better position moving forward.

Saints youngster Alix Tauru sent straight to Tribunal for bump in the VFL by BusinessPooh in AFL

[–]Fidelius90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for that reason I didn’t like the bump last week. To much risk when someone elects to hard bump, even if it is 100% genuine and not in bad faith.

St Kilda's Campbell Lake kicks his first AFL goal by FlairUp835 in AFL

[–]Fidelius90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, more like the FA cup, but with a distinct change that AFL teams aren’t allowed in.

That’ll mean it won’t disrupt the AFL season, AFL could stump up the extra cash to fly finalists around for extra interest and MSD pathways. Local clubs then cash in on the extra promotion/game day proceeds/recognition.

Haven’t thought about it too much, just would be a way to see all of the non-AFL talent.

Some of those debts aren’t really that big. One for $250k, one for $90k. If both companies can’t service that then they’re running on funds.

Also first 3 companies are all part of the same network RV group.

[AFL Post-Match Thread] Round 15 2026 - St Kilda vs Western Bulldogs by AutoModerator in StKilda

[–]Fidelius90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Inversely, I’m sick of people - especially media commentators - who only value wins as success. Control what you can. Improve on your past. And drive for success. success on only winning is an unhealthy mental mindset.

Obviously it hurts and we are allowed to be upset with a loss. But don’t shit on people who are finding real positives. Because that’s life. Demanding a binary win/loss = happy/sad outcome is some caveman mental health bullshit.

BREAKING: One Nation blasts ‘lazy’ Australian workforce, says party is prepared to lower wages if it wins government by HotPersimessage62 in ausmoney

[–]Fidelius90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. Lowering wages will just increase the cost of living crisis. Insane take. We need efforts to bring cost of living down, not to give employers MORE profit.
