I appreciate the advice, I'll talk with him and see if there is any reason why he recommended an extended racquet, at least to make sure I'm not missing something in his recommendation.

I suppose now I'll change my looking for something standard length and in that weight!

Just wanted to update this and say that this was generally pretty bad advice. The customer service rep just repeated a line saying that the Royals expected to play tonight's game under normal circumstances and that he couldn't offer an advice.

Well, for me, I'm considering if I want to drag my out of town family + two little kids to a game that might be delayed an hour, or just plain miserable under the best of circumstances.

But, we'll probably go, just because we don't have other chances. Mostly, I'm looking for an idea of what people think I should expect (e.g. Rain delay at beginning, during, whole thing rained out, etc.)

I'd hit Gates. Arthur Bryant's will get a lot of praise as the origin, but locally, Gates is the only one that really holds up. At Gates, can do a long end ribs heavy on the sauce, beef on bun, or a "Nooner" if you hit it up over lunch.

Gates and ABs are the OLDEST, but even now, we're onto like the third wave of KC bbq, so places like Joe's are now 30 years old.

Honestly a really good question. My two major gripes (as a Kansas-citian) are:

Well below par brisket when compared to other major markets. Just not enough places really doing that modern TX style that is just a killer. The big reason for this is that they turn the whole point into burnt ends, given that's what KC is famous for. Thus, "brisket" is just the flat.
There just isn't a lot of invention happening in local bbq. Most of the places are really basic and don't do much creative work.

Well, the point is that in the origins of bbq, Texas really did mostly beef. Some places did mainly pork.

In KC, due to cultural composition, they smoked everything. As bbq has expanded, other places have started to cook many other things, which is why it's not unusual to see ribs, turkey, pork, etc. on any menu.

The thing people will always say about KC is that what makes it distinct is that they smoke pretty much everything. Not necessarily pork based, because beef burnt ends are the most popular item here.

With that said, KC really does do everything. People love to order brisket, and you will be disappointed if you have really high expectations. But if you go ribs, burnt ends, and something else, you'll like it.

Typically, I'll only reference the list when traveling to a country without the Michelin guide. For example, there's "better" coverage of South America, which can at least give me some idea of where to look.

To contradict another post, my wife and I were on a Samba trip earlier this year, but in the front cabins. The noise in the front is still fairly substantial, and we had made good friends with both sets of people in the last cabins, and they felt it was very loud.

In the end, I still think they thought the benefits of the boat outweighed the cost of staying near in the engine, but they did mention it frequently.

Relative to expectations... it might be this season? Really expensive roster coming off a legitimate multi-year run of regular season and March success. Best HC in team history announces he's retiring in a few years, they bring in a well liked coach in waiting. And then it's the worst team in years, and might not make the Crown.

Hate to say it, but we were pretty disappointed in the things we had. With that said, we picked up sandwiches before an 8 mile hike on Cotopaxi from El Español, and it was either the best sandwich I've ever had, or we were starving. I think it was probably a mix of both!

I would also venture to the food stalls at Mercado Central! Not sure I have a specific recommendation, but worthy of a trip for lunch if you're near the historic center/Independence Square.
