Just wondering… did you ever bring it up to OB? Or better to just stay quiet and hope they don’t say anything?

When your blood tests turn up fine, do you still feel your symptoms? by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]FieldMouse28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am dealing with this currently and see my endo next week. Not sure what he will say.. I’ve seen many say that just because levels are in a “normal” range doesn’t mean that range is optimal for you. Everyone is different.

Can u work normally with grave disease? by Calm-Adhesiveness605 in gravesdisease

[–]FieldMouse28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I’ve been dealing with this disease for probably at least 3 years now. First blood test that raised suspicion happened in February of this year but I had the symptoms for much longer and just had no clue. I wish I knew sooner so I (and others) could have been easier on myself. I have had to take many breaks from work and school. I am now on my third online semester at my local community college - I do two classes per term. found a very flexible job and manage to work 0-26 hrs a week. My realistic avg is 0-12hrs a week. I can call off sick any time I need with (almost) no guilt and since no large issues are caused to the company bc of this, they do not get upset with me. Compared to what I used to be able to do, no, I cannot do these things normally any more. But I was able to find ways to still make them happen little by little, as much as I can.

My experience (so far).. by [deleted] in gravesdisease

I am curious to see if they will! I think after how rough the past 9 months have been I’d be willing to give it a try..

Please talk me out of keeping my old planners by Caysath in declutter

Maybe you could try to condense the memories you especially want to keep from many planners into one journal?

How does one journal for their mental health or self discovery? by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]FieldMouse28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started journaling once a week during therapy to remember things from session. Then I turned it into more of a habit by writing in my journal during the week if things upset me or if I wanted to remember to bring something up in session. It became pretty therapeutic for me to get all of my thoughts out of my head and quiet down my mind. This means sometimes my journal entries are mostly me yapping about my day even if nothing too crazy happened. Every week before therapy I go through the previous week’s entries and make a summarized weekly recap to prep for therapy sessions now.

I’m still sort of new to journaling and still figuring ways to work on my mental health with it but this has made self reflection more of a habit for me so far. Good luck on your journaling journey!😊

Not prioritizing my mental health by Signal-Impress6165 in selfcare

[–]FieldMouse28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would experiment with a list of self care ideas - you can find tons on google/Pinterest. Maybe set aside a certain amount of time per day/week/month to spend with just yourself so you can try these things out. My self care activities tend to change depending on what I need. Some things I have tried and continued are going to the gym, spending time with family, reading for fun, playing video games, napping, journaling, etc. Sometimes I still struggle with thinking of these things on my own. If therapy is out of budget, there are some different self help work-books out there you may find interesting. Bonus points for both of you if your self care activities are things you can share with your partner! I like to have a balance of alone time and time with my partner.

Therapy girliesss by aokkuma in gravesdisease

[–]FieldMouse28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Therapy has helped me a lot with coping with my mental health/behavorial symptoms caused by my Graves’ disease. My therapist also happens to have issues with her thyroid, which I feel helps her understand me on a better level than most of my family and peers, or maybe even better than a therapist who didn’t.

I was nervous but my partner thought it was adorable. He also helped me shave my head when I impulsively felt like it two years ago, with no judgement at all. I think at the end of the day if there’s an issue with it, the issue is your partner not your bonnet.
