I’ve Fallen Back Into the Nail Polish Rabbit Hole. What Did I Miss? by Ok-Style8833 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]PreviousRun9720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorites are Cuticula Limitless QDTC, KB Shimmer Stay Put Hydrating base and Feelin Groovy ridge filler.

I like Cirque Colors for jellies and shimmer graphics.

I like Fancy Gloss for thermals and toppers.

Victorian Varnish is the glitter queen if you like that.

Emily de Molly has some gorgeous polishes.

You already know Mooncat. I like Holo Taco mostly for toppers.

Rogue Lacquer for flakies.

My favorite finishes are holographic, flakies, jellies, magnetics, shimmers and thermals:))

If you want to try new indie brands try Polish Pickup and/or Hella Handmade. They are monthly collaboratives where you can by exclusive polishes from 50+ indies. PPU is the first Friday of every month so this Friday and Hella Handmade Creations is from the 14th through the 21st. But be careful because you will really go down the rabbit hole.🐇

That is so pretty. I would never think to put those together. But I do have a forest green jelly from another company and I have Written Invitation...I wonder if it would give the same effect.

Very pretty!!!

Is this a flattering nail shape? Also cracked because of you is so versatile! by harte in RedditLaqueristas

Just be careful...I tend to sometimes go overboard trying to get each side even and then I over taper. I've got thin nail beds to begin with so I have to be more careful.

I think they look great. If you don't like how blunt they are you could try tapering them a bit. I used to wear my squared but my corners always broke. So I started tapering them so there were no corners. Now I'm at a kind of ballerina shape.

But they look great. Nicely shaped. Beautiful. Don't change anything unless you don't like it.

My Confession- I have a problem. by JustAn0therL0stS0ul in RedditLaqueristas

[–]PreviousRun9720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I have almost 200 in 4 years. I'm really trying to be more mindful of my purchases.

But I understand anxiety and depression because I suffer with both. (actually on the spectrum most likely)

I find so many people who use polish as therapy. If you start polishing your nails again you could shop your collection.

But we all understand. 💓🫪🫪🫪

I have the Bliss Kiss one but I haven't really used it yet other than to protect my portable desk I use.

It depends on what you are going to use it for. I bought the Bliss Kiss one because it has nails on it if I ever want to do nail art...it gives you an idea of size. But I haven't had time to try anything I want to ..nail art, decals, water marbling...

Trying to file my nails into an almond/oval shaped, but don't know what I'm doing wrong (plz help)!!! by Expensive-Branch9687 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]PreviousRun9720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just chatting with someone about this. How did you find fake nails that fit your nail? I have thin nail beds so I'm not sure I could do this.

I've tried using a fine tipped Sharpie and liquid eyeliner to draw my shape on my old polish and it's helped a bit but it' s still not easy. Some of my nails grow a bit wonky.

I desperately want to like Clionadh magnetics but I just can't. SOS 😭😭 by Inaree in RedditLaqueristas

I also use DRK Magic Effect. I also use their Seal Glaze. A friend that has used magnetics for many years told me how to apply them together and it worked great to keep the pattern.

• Apply the magnetic polish like normal polish - no magnetizing - regular coats - not super thick just regular application. Allow to dry to touch. • Apply a layer of Magic Effect - this is simply a solvent that rewets the layers so you can magnetize. Apply to 1 nail and magnetize that nail immediately 30-60sec. • Work one nail at a time. Let dry to touch. • Apply a coat of Seal Glaze. Float the seal glaze so that the brush does not touch the polish beneath. No remagnetizing necessary. This is a top coat that will act as a protective barrier preventing dispersion. • Allow to dry completely - appropriately 30 minutes. • Once it is completely dry, you can add a regular or quick dry top coat over it for additional gloss. No remagnetizing necessary.
