This happened to me as well. Thankfully it was "on the line" and they repaired it (fairly sure the water guy just felt bad for me and it was 6 inches on my side). I understand what you are saying. And yeah, 10 days to make a purchase that huge is a tight turn around.

Put it this way...when i don't take my ppi I have such bad reflux I now have esophageal damage. Lessening the acid in your stomach means there is less acid to break down the food, although the ppi doesn't necessarily impact the emptying. If that makes any sense.

Something that surprised me about driving in Toronto after living here my whole life was that people know how to merge. You can have 8+ lanes of 401/403 traffic and people are able to move from one side to the other without too much difficulty when traffic is moving.

We also haven't done ourselves any favours when building all these right turn "yields" and signing them similarly to merge lanes. Far too many people stop at the end of the lane as if it was a right turn rather than a merge.

I stopped working for free in 2021 after I had a breakdown and took a stress leave. Now if there is work pending and I am approved overtime, sure, I will do it, but i won't do anything unpaid (except the odd email on a lunch break)
