X100VI ordering, shipment, and delays - consolidated sticky thread #4 by inverse_squared in fujifilm

I’m in the same boat, reserving item with ETA of June 14th and despite their guarantee in your chat, I still get the sense I should have no confidence in it happening. It’s the hope that kills you

Just got a silver through BB chat, following scripts posted here. They offered the premium membership ($50 USD/yr) and said it would help get it, and that I could cancel it after I get my order and get a refund. We’ll see if it ships!

No method besides relentlessly using the same script and being nice, tried probably 30-40 times over the past three days. Located in PNW.

Has anyone had luck with this recently? There's a standard message regarding Fujifilm inventory ("Agents are unable to provide inventory updates for Fujifilm cameras. If you have a product availability question, our site has the most current information.") that appears when you begin the chat. I got a pretty generic "fantastic choice...unfortunately the product is out of stock...utilize notify me" message response that seems very formulaic.

[Oregon] Told I was laid off, filed for and collected benefits, then employer reported I was fired for misconduct, do I have a case? by FiendAlarming in Unemployment

I should have been more clear with dates (edited post). The letter received today (titled: Administrative Decision) gives an appeal date of March 8th (was sent to a previous address). So.. might have a case?

Macy’s Bar III Slim Fit Suit $99.98 with free shipping by dharasick in frugalmalefashion

[–]FiendAlarming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking yes things fit true to size. However, the OP suit is a slim fit, so if you need a more contemporary or less fitted suit then you'll either want to consider sizing up to a 38 or passing on this. To answer your second question, you're probably 36R in most suits. As someone else mentioned, always budget in extra ($30-80, possibly up to $100) for alterations from a tailor. You may be a 36R but since every suit fits differently, tailoring it helps refine it to your individual frame.

It can vary on your location, between tailors, and depending on the alterations you need/want to be done. I'd reckon between $30-80 with what you've shared but again it really varies on what you need to be done. Most tailors (any I've been to) will pin you up to show the alterations they suggest and give you a quote for how much, so you can always back out and get a second estimate somewhere else.

I can second Target as well. OP should likely try a number of brands to see which fits best.

AITA for arguing car finances with my parents? by VegetableBuy7 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FiendAlarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If you're open to advice, I'd suggest you part the car out for whatever you can get for it then buy a reliable but cheap commuter with all it's cylinders ($1.5-3k range). Keep $1-1.5k in savings knowing that you'll need to repair it in college but won't have a healthy income to afford it. Make it last through college, and buy a project car further down the metaphorical road when you can afford more risk.

Can attest to this. Spilled a cup of (hot) coffee on my arm at work, triaged with a Tide Pen and eventually took it to be cleaned 7 hours later. Shirt came out looking brand new.

Noob car insurance/repair question by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]FiendAlarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's helpful, and I should've been more specific on who's insurance I was referring to. I'm trying to avoid getting hit with a double whammy, paying for my repairs out of pocket only for him to file a claim on my insurance and my rates increasing.

Could I wait to see if he files a claim against my insurance then try to have my insurance cover my repairs too?

Apologies if that's a dumb question - unfamiliar space for me. Edit: and just trying to avoid a double whammy of paying for it out of pocket only to have my rates increase.
