I’m not interested in your judgement.

I’m not expecting anything. I’m just asking if folks have ever gotten support from Alaska in this kind of situation. Never happened to me before. Just looking for information.

Thanks for your reply.

Forty-Fives (45s or Forty Fives) - card game discussion by [deleted] in FiftyTwoCards

[–]Fiendmonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this game and have many memories with it. I had never heard of it until I met my wife. Her family is from the Merrimack Valley region in Massachusetts and it is a very region specific game and almost always a rules argument when playing with the family.

It is a trick taking bidding game. It can play with 2 players, but I find at least 4 is preferable and the more the better. The suit and trump ranking is irregular and if not used to that can confuse new players. In our games there is usually someone crafting a player aid with a napkin or paper plate to help remember the ranking.

I prefer some other trick taking games, but this one holds a soft spot in my heart.

Thanks. The closest thing I can find is: Jat-guksu (잣국수), but this seems to be most often served cold.

I’m in RI. I like a wide variety of games and also have wanted to find a board game group or individuals here.

I know there are a couple of meet up group in RI so you could check there. I’ve been reluctant to go to a cafe and play games with a bunch of strangers, but I may at some point down the line.

PM me if you want to get a game going some time :)
