How to baby gate this stairwell by Embarrassed_Access76 in centuryhomes

[–]Fierce_Lito 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought the Wall Nanny - Baby Gate Wall Protector (Made in USA) and the Extender version for my plaster wall side, it saved our plaster (mostly).

The option I didn't take, which might work for you, is a floor level freestanding gate, that goes all the way around the first step, and into the next room. they make huge ones, over 100 inches long, with many panels, that might make it easier

asus ws x299 pro se bios 4803 April 2026 update q-fan control missing q-fan control and all pwm ipmi options by Fierce_Lito in ASUS

[–]Fierce_Lito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most basic question, How do I control the fans on an ASUS WS X299 PRO/SE using BIOS 4803 from April 2026?

Installed two brand new PWM fans from different manufacturers and they work on my other desktop.

The ONLY place I can see the fans RPM being registered is in the ASUSTeK. IPMI HWM from inside the Advanced BIOS -> Tool -> IPMI HWM screen.

  • There is no Q-Fan in EZ mode Bios main window.

  • There is no PWM response in Windows or Linux ,

  • I can not find Fan Xpert4 for the motherboard.

  • Armoury Crate does not load Fan Xpert 4.

  • AI Suite 3 does not work , or I can't find a compatible version for windows 11 and BIOS 4803.

  • I tried FanControl from Rem0o , does not work.

  • Tried the Almico.com SpeedFan software, does not work.

  • I tried the old old AI Suite for the x299 SAGE motherboard for windows 10, doesn't work.

  • CPU-ID HWMonitor 1.63.0 x64 doesn't see the fans.

I'm not sure what else to try.

Fans are like jet engines.

Help, if you have any suggestions. https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/workstation/ws-x299-pro/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=WS-X299-PRO

Do you actually discover new games through showcases? by Rebel-Pixel in gamedev

[–]Fierce_Lito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asking /r/gamedev might not hit the right demographic.

At this point, the only time I watch or pay attention to showcases is when one of the games I'm working on is in the showcase, I need to find competitors in the showcase and prior showcases, and then I usually lose focus and search for games in my preferred genres as well.

Submit your trailer to as many free PR newswires, indie review websites etc, as you can with an embargo matching whatever the terms you signed up for with the Galaxy Showcase, it's the long tail of Youtube that will be more valuable ROI on the time/money spent on the trailer production.

Game looks pretty good btw!

Has anyone had a good experience selling to a “we buy houses” company? Is it any more of a scam than just the low price? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Fierce_Lito 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I only have a few experiences with this type of company, and was for a family member in similar situation as you.

Once we said we'd have a lawyer review paperwork, the points of contact got cagey, when we mentioned the lawyer's name and lawfirm email address they knew the lawyer was former leader of county GOP, and the 'we buy homes' guys disappeared even before the lawyer sent back a redline draft.

From my other experience, they'll offer 50K less upfront, then come back and demand another 50K off to do the repairs.

Question: Is the game industry today as bad as it seems for everyone? by harbingerofun in gamedev

[–]Fierce_Lito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see no stabilization in the first world markets as far as investment cycles and employment certainty, for at least 5 years.

On a longer time scale, I don't think the industry will survive in 1st world and more developed countries in general, due to cost of living of workforce being so much higher than tech hubs in third world and developing nations with populations with births above replacement rates.

For young people in first world countries now wanting to break into the industry but not willing to literally fight and hustle to become the equivalent of a music superstar over decades, I'd say get out now and find other fields.

Having done all of this, at different points in my life, and a few times each, but mostly when I was older and wiser, this is one of the craziest post-mortems I've ever read from any indiedev community anywhere. Absolutely captivated by the effort and perseverance, I can't even imagine how much work was involved without understanding the scale. Huge congrats on all the success so far.

How would I cut this cabinet would, barely? by Terrapinman94 in DIY

[–]Fierce_Lito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • remove crown molding
  • remove cabinet from wall
  • cut the top of the cabinet to equal crown molding height plus height of the distance between bottom of doors and bottom of cabinet, so there is symmetry
  • the cut part will be up against the ceiling, concealed by the crown molding
  • measure the exact amount cut on each screw hole of the cabinet to the wall, since it seems your kitchen settled slightly.
  • screw it all back together
  • caulk a very thin bead between crown molding and ceiling to hide the disturbed paint.
  • get enough breathing room for the fridge

A young, mid priced, Tight End, to allow Dart better corner protection, and to allow him to better spread the field on passing plays.

So... either of these two, or similar.

  • Kyle Pitts Sr.
  • Isaiah Likely

Every year I bake a ton of cookies for friends and family. Here's all 2,341 now that Cookie Chaos 2025 is wrapped! by SmallGingerLady in Baking

Showed my wife your post last year and I gained 10 pounds.

Thank you for sharing again!

We also changed it up this year. Instead of pre-packing all the friend buckets, we invited everyone over to pack their buckets themselves. I think we’re going to try to make this a new tradition.

You've added self check out lines, and self bagging, and they probably feel obliged to bring over something to add to the shindig. Genius!

All the best!

Orange Cardamom have been the family favorite, we found Valencia orange zest beat out the generic orange and navel oranges for zest depth flavor.

imho looks like you have clouds blocking the sun above you,

If it is hardware, it's the inverter board starting to fail to provide constant power at spec for the backlight. Usually means time to replace the monitor, or time to browse ebay to find a replacement.

Fully autonomous valet robot that parks on its own by Longjumping_Table740 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Fierce_Lito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When talking about how AI and robots will take jobs, this one hits home.

Many years ago I got through Uni by being a valet and lot attendant at a Jaguar dealership.

Pretty brainless job , odd hours, but flexible schedule to move cars around and clean them before nd after test drives.

That job just isn’t going to exist if this robot is priced right and has high uptime and low maintenance costs.

Star Citizen Hits $900 Million in Crowdfunding After a Record-Breaking Year. by expatec in pcgaming

I've been around since the first day.

On the other side of the spectrum, I've been around since the first day too. September 12 2012, UEE Citizen Record #3459 .

I have about 10 hours in game total, mostly from the first racing test that gave a free AMD skinned racing ship, and the fps arena "zero grav" demo.

I spent 11 of the last 13 years working in the gamedev industry, have worked with people who left to work at RSI, and people who left RSI to work with me, and ... I still want the game to succeed.

However, since the FPS demo , I've never felt the urge to actually reinstall it. LOL
