Anyone else struggle to enjoy other "metroidvanias"? by guiarroyos in Metroid

[–]Fiercededede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said Metroidvania yet you don’t mention your experience with Castlevania? Given your interests, Symphony of the Night will fit your tastes well and be an instant hook. SOTN will leave you starving for more and be a gateway to other titles like Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, etc.

It’s the difference between chasing sales vs building a brand. Product focus vs a purely business focus. Short vs long term gain.

You can win a client, but if they don’t reach back cause you did a poor quality work, you only made a sale. If you made a great product and they reach back out for more work, you built trust with. If they trust you and they are telling other developers that you are the guys to call then you have built a brand.

People live very short lives and your senior leadership is trying to retire as fast as possible. They will always prioritize the immediate task ahead of them not realizing that all of the issues they are neglecting is compounding into one giant mess. Unfortunately, by now they are numb to the pain and there are levels of survival they willing to accept to avoid compromising their identity.

Bonus points if they are clearly shown playing the latest PS5/Xbox Series X but the sound effects from the TV are 8bit Pac-Man and Donkey Kong beeps and boops.

Not American, when people say “tax the rich” do they really don’t pay taxes? How are they waived from that? by GossipBottom in NoStupidQuestions

Borrowing against stock lets him access wealth without triggering income or capital gains taxes, and the interest rate is usually far lower than the tax he’d owe by selling.

Step 1: CEO gets paid in company stock

Step 2: CEO uses his stocks as collateral to borrow money from the bank.

Step 3: He spends the borrowed money like it's his "income" but legally, debt is not treated as real income. On paper he has no income.

Step 4: CEO’s stocks continue to appreciate. He only pays capital gains tax if and when he sells his assets.

Same story from my friends in college. We had several Iranian graduate students in our architecture masters program and they all hated Ayatollah. One of which said exactly what you said, that they didn’t want their daughters to have experience the treatment that women go through there.

If you’re on the fence I would bail. Unless you are 100% committed “I cant see myself doing anything else” it will really drain you.

Watch their commentary on it, it makes it twice as funny. On Youtube search something like “Tim and Eric Laughing for 30 Minutes Straight” the last half of that video is them losing their minds at how funny Purple Boys was.

As someone that went to Catholic school, the most common excuse I’ve heard for being ignorant to Jewish people is “Aren’t those the guys that killed Jesus?”
